This new Stencyl software...

Can you export your games as .SWF's?

Does it have all the basic capabilities of Flash?

Is it like a free, easier-to-use Flash?

Just downloaded, checking it out.

What are your thoughts, guys?

It's a crappy drag and drop game maker, yes it exports SWFs, iOS games won't be a one click thing though, and you'll be extremely limited in what you can make. There's absolutely no code involved, it's more of a toy then a program.

And at $79/yr minimum I stick to Flash.

I think stencyl is one of the best flash game maker that you can make games in without so much coding skills, but if you are making games to earn money i think flash is better.

and also stencyl is free:P

What exactly is the draw with this thing? Newgrounds was sponsoring it, so it must be a big deal, right?

I remember playing both the flash and Stencyl version of Tanooky Tracks and the flash version was leagues above the Stencyl version in terms of performance and visuals.

with stencyl there is a free version, i like it but the only problem is not bieng able to add custom preloaders without having the full version

Poor? You realize that FlashDevelop is free, right?
