It seems 90%of the time, the first shopping cart I choose is one with a bad wheel. Has this ever happened
to anyone if so please elaborate.

According to The Meaning of Liff by Douglas Adams and some other guy ....

Motspur (n.)
The fourth wheel of a supermarket cart, which looks identical to the other three but renders the cart completely uncontrollable.

They tend to be the older and rusty shopping carts that have that one wretched wheel. Happened to me a couple of times since I'm the one that tends to get the shopping cart for her. Just kick it and it's mostly good..

Yeah, the homeless must take all the good carts.

I hate pushing shopping karts with bad wheels. That’s why I always make someone else push the kart for me.

Nope- I'm pretty good with shopping carts...

But I'm really bad with picking airport trolleys....

Why? It's the only place you can get diapers, TV Guide, and delicious cheese!

I'm not fond of grocery stores anymore, now that I have had the experience of working in one for 4 years. Thank gods I don't work there now.

As for shopping carts... it depends who gets the cart. If I get the cart, it's fine. If my mom picks the cart, it's shit. So the lesson is to let me get the cart. Which I don't do anyway because once my mom manages to have me push the cart once, I end up pushing it for the rest of the shopping trip.

What I really hate are the stores that make you put the quarter in, just to use the cart. Take the cart back, get your quarter back. The other day I went to Aldi (ugh) but I didn't have a quarter, no one would help me out, so I had to carry my things all through the store. I would up only getting $15 worth of groceries- all I could carry.

Quote of the day: @Nysssa "What is the word I want to use here?" @freakapotimus "Taint".

Sometimes when i'm out collecting the shopping carts I get one with one bad wheel and I have to keep pushing all the shopping carts to the side so they won't hit anything.

As if you're going to go all out to replace the cart so that you don't lose that PRECIOUS quarter...

UGH! ALDI!! Thousands and thousands of dirty people and amish people all in the same place for your convenience...not to say that everyone who goes there is dirty, but there is a supply.

I always wanted to create a souped-up shopping cart. They say it can't be done, but I'll show them...I'll show them all

In my experience they have 3 bad wheels & one almost decent wheel at the back, What you do on a wet day is grab a trolley & start spinning very fast, when you are going as fast as you can let go of the trolley, it'll hit the curb which usually just happens to be the same hieght as the wheels, if you're lucky all 4 wheels will sheer off & the trolley will sail nicely across the wet grass on the nature strip.

Since we're on the topic of shopping carts, my friend ran one over with his souped up samurai jeep. It got stuck under the car (We were hitting it all day), and these nice older kids helped us out.

Nobody said it can't be done, infact it is done, In San Fransisco they have Trolley races, You can do anything you like to the Trolley but all four of its original wheels must touch the ground even if you use your own wheels, They can be propelled by any method except Internal combustion engines, One guy made one with part of a go-kart chassis & 2 bosch starter motors, it could go 60mph(100km/h).

Yes, and it pisses me off, you have to turn it every second and you can run with it then jump on it otherwise it'll spin round.
I also hate the squeaky ones.

I hate it when people leave the cart beside the thing you put them up in, however, an abandoned cart saved my life.
After doing the right thing, and putting my cart up, I was crossing the road to get back to my car. As I was 1/4 of the was across the road, this old woman in a BMW comes about 30mph down the road, and obviously doesn't see me. Luckily, there was a cart about 3 feet behind me, so I pushed it back and rolled out of harm's way. The old woman hit the cart, and stopped after the cart fliped over her car. I ran to my car and sped away.

Good times.
