What about you guys? If youcould pick any instrument what would it be?
Hmm I've always wanted an Autoharp, Chapman Stick, Waterphone, and Hang Drum
Steinway Model D. 'Nuff said...
Other than that, a triple french horn, Stradivarius cello, hang drum (so cool!), harp...pretty much every instrument since I can't afford any at the moment. :p
A Gretsch Corvette or a Fender Jazzmaster!

Hard to be more unaffordable than a Steinway ... but as far as what I'd actually want at the moment isn't all the terribly fancy or unaffordable ... a Taylor 316ce. Played one in the shop and loooved the way it had both really resonant low end and sparkly highs.

Dude those are both like 600 bucks. I'm sure if you saved for the them you could get them.
What I'd love is a Gretsch custom shop guitar. I can think of 3 or 4 designs I'd already go for.... mmmmmhhmmm.........

Practically every instrument I wanna own right now, I cannot afford because of my meagre allowance and hopelessly jobless student status (for now). But if I were to be picky:
If I were picking a grand piano, I'd pick a Steinway.
And if I were picking a drum kit... Tama Imperialstar.
Organs.
Because Fugue
: What? No I won't level up, I like my watergun.

Yup! I just need to get the money..and then justify the cost versus loads of other stuff! A custom guitar sounds tasty too...probably stick some single coils up on dat, 24 frets too!
I want an Ibanez RG2228 Prestige guitar.
But I'm poor so I can only look at in in photos :(
...
NG Audio, Youtube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Reverbnation

I know this dude with a HUGE cathedral pipe-organ AT HIS HOME (!)
He knocked the floor off a room on the second floor just to fit that baby in.
A grand piano! Or how about just ANY piano instead of my cheap keyboard haha.
I'm not too much of an electronics person, but a Moog would be super fun too.
hmmmmmm....
a voodoo sg
aaaand
omnisphere and trillian
Gibson ES-335
Godin Multiac
A really great orchestral library
88 key keyboard
A good room and monitors :(
Some fantastically expensive fantasy instruments (can't imagine getting any use out of the last three though!):
Hang drum
Fretless guitar (can't afford the first one, or have someone make one for me, don't have the skill to make one myself)
Haaken Continuum
Harpejji
Church organ
Booking a recording session with the London Symphony Orchestra

(Church organ being the last one)
Dude, I could totally get use for that; I am an organist! But I won't ask for one, since I've got the best setting and best place to play an organ.
Waterphone...
Or Contrabass Trombone (Tubas beware).

I'd like a good wife.

This is what Gene Simmons had to say about this...
O prostitute will tell you how much it's going to cost up front. A wife will tell you nothing until AFTER your divorce.

I actually approached a organ smith and asked what kinds of prices we were talking. Turns out to be 80 000â'¬ to have a custom organ made. I take it that this associate of yours bough his as used? :P

I would love to try and make a tiny pipe organ though
Getzen 3003S Genesis Bb-Trumpet EUR 2299
Frank Hartung Guitars Embrace Model starts from EUR 3200
Really though
I'd like to be blessed along with a tree in africa from a tribe then have a really nice traditional djembe carved from it. Of course I'd need to make peace with an african tribe first and learn all their ceremonial rhythms. Probably cost me a good 10k at least as well as a good portion of time to set that all up. But I think it would be worth it if money wasnt the factor.
I had a 2 hour clinic with a djembe master who did that and it made for a helluva good story at least.

Forgot you play trumpet! I recently started myself on a luxurious Thomann Bb Trumpet.
Any books/guides/beginner peices you'd recommend? I'm mostly practicing my C scale and doing some bits by ear!
I also want to build my own Tesla coil tower that interacts to music! :-D

Yeah, he got it from a local church.
