I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos on YouTube and it's mad me lol like there is no tomorrow. Seeing grown men with a Straight face just flat out make an ass out of themselves lying on National TV and blowing things SOOO out of proportion. Especially Bill. He flat out Yells so loud to Censor anybody that is smarter then him so he can look better. I swear his microphone is up to 1000 or something. Plus, why would he cut stuff from his interviews and put them on TV but put the Unedited version Online. So what is your Opinion on the Fox (not so news) channel. Enlighten me.

The Republican conservative whine bag of news channels. You know, the complete opposite of MSNBC, the one that rarely gets any flag from anybody really even though they're the Democratic liberal whine bag of news channels.
Bill O'Reilly I don't mind too much. He's pretty harmless. It's that fucking show "Fox & Friends" and "Glenn Beck" that I find to be complete ass-hats.

I don't watch news that much, except for, you know, comedy stuff like the Daily Show and Colbert Report. I've seen some of Bill O'Reilly's stuff and he honestly isn't that bad. I think his shows are probably good in some ways because of his guest stars. Even if you don't agree with what he says, you can at least pay attention to THEM. But yeah, he's rarely said anything smart and it doesn't seem like he does anything that good that's particularly noteworthy.

when you go you youtube and look up "O'reilley is a moron" or "o'reilly gets owned" you tend to get the distinct idea that he's not too bright.
it's like looking up "Obama is a moron" same idea.

Shepard Smith is the only person who keeps Fox News reliable, I say that because he's the only really good journalist left out there. everyone else that claims to have a journalism program in the cable news industry is pretty much has a glorified opinion show.

Olbermann is a pompous diva of the first order, but he is no idiot. He has more brain power than any of the Fox News people mentioned above (evil genius Karl Rove being the only exception, but he's not really a Fox guy, just a contributor).

He seems alright from what I've heard from him. I've heard a few little comments he made that made me double take that water mark. this man? on Fox News? no way.

I don't care for him, either. He's basically a liberal Bill O'Reilly. However, I disagree that he's a bigger douche than all of those people combined. It just can't be done. Plus, he does actually seem to be pretty intelligent.

I find it hard to avoid it when I'm on the internet. There's always clips and stories of the latest bullshit that comes from that sorry excuse of a news organization.
Plus, I like Stewart and Colbert, and they very often feature clips on their shows.

I try not to judge a news source purely from word of mouth, but anyone who tells me that Obama is a socialist at this point is either a massive liar or too ignorant to be in their position. This is why I will never rely on fox news.

Just out of sheer curiosity, how would you define "socialist?" Isn't it someone who wants people to "come together" and wants to artificially limit the representation of successful businesses? Or is it simply someone who wants a compromise between capitalism and communism, so that we won't "cut our way to prosperity?"

All I can say about Fox News and O Reilly is: You're right, sun goes up, sun goes down. Therefore, god did it.
It's not the lack of crimes that values your morality but your capacity for contrition.

its a legitimate question because the word's been thrown around so much its like calling some one the F word (the one that means gay) now adays.
I would't define it as a compromise between capitalism and communism, it used to be interchangeable with communism so I'll put it like that. Lets just say that Socialism is the economic system used under a Communist dictatorship. Take a police state, give it a socialist economic model, its communism. Take a Democracy, give it a Socialist economic model, its democratic socialism. very plain and simple actually.
Why Obama isn't a socialist is because he isn't taking control of industries and nationalising them under the public sector. All he is actually doing is forcing people to run their business a certain way. It is authoritarian no doubt about it but economically authoritarian doesn't automatically mean socialist, other forms of economic authoritarianism would be Cronyism used by corrupt fascists, and Feudalism used by Europe in the middle ages.

But do they truly own it when the government he stands for can order them around that easily? Also, if some businesses are already nationalized (road and bridge construction, supporting banks, mail delivery, portions of education and health care, most parks, etc.) and new leaders do not try to privatize any of them, isn't it implied that they accept the nationalization of those industries and would do the same if their predecessors hadn't already?

Yea, the government does seem claim ownership over everything, but a socialist would redistribute the profits of these businesses so that everyone gets paid equally, instead the government allows them to keep their profits, and then passes their losses on to everyone else through taxes. This is called "corporatism", where corporations become extensions of the state.
I can see a lot of this going on in British Columbia (my province) where corporations like ICBC, BC Hydro are given government forced monopolies over our roads, insurance and utilities and then get almost all of their expenses covered by tax payer money while the executives still gets to keep any profits generated this way. They also get special privileges that negate everyone else's property rights. Our socialists in charge said "we should take their money and use it for something" and the corporatists in charge said "we have to let these people keep their profits it's their right, even though their profits consist almost entirely of tax payer money."
In Obama's case, he forced people to buy health insurance. "free health care"

Bill O'Reily is a very much bigoted and arrogant individual and the lesson from arrogance is that to an individual that is in possession of arrogance it is their arrogance will be their undoing. Of course I knew this and all my valued contemporaries are on the same page with Bill O'Reily, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity and a bunch of other assholes that I tend not to keep track of and well off because the last thing we need is to give Fox News more ratings for more bigoted, arrogant and biased members and the only decent thing they did was fire Glen Beck and Hank Williams Jr. as far as I'm concerned they should quit while their ahead 'cause there is nothing factual on that channel just their opinion, social commentary, and the latest Right Wing scare tactic to eradicate all conscious thoughts, opinions, and ideas that are new, original and different and to them that is a sign of a menace to society. So...STAY AWAY FROM FOX NEWS and you'll go far.

I generally don't care, I don't watch them since I usually formulate my opinions on things and usually what such pundits have to say isn't that big of a deal.

Bill's an ass. A harmless one, but an ass, nonetheless.
Fox news, however, is ridiculous. They blow every piece of news they get out of proportion. Oh, and they lie. Here is a website, totally dedicated to showing their lies. Recently, every hacker they see that does something they consider wrong is also immediately labeled as "Anonymous." In this video Jon Stewart reads off a huge list of their "false statements."

They are deliberately distorting the truth, and misinform the public for profit. There entire company is structured around making the public blissfully ignorant and manipulating them, no matter what cost or who they destroy in their media circus, and Rupert Murdoch not only knows this, but pioneered this. Don't get me started on him.
But don't get me wrong, msnbc is just as bad, and cnn is a joke.
One thing I find pathetic about the American media is that an American can be more informed of the US through the BBC then an actual American news source.

I stopped watching Fox after Glenn Beck left. It's too wishy washy now, they basically give equal air time to the bullshit liberal side of the story which everybody is tired of hearing for the 9001th time, and the true side of the story, and they call that fair and balanced. Bill O'Reily is the worst at doing that. He compromises his principles just so some fag in San Fransisco doesn't get butthurt. It's morally repugnant.

I don't watch those news channels, but according The Daily Show, Fox news is full of babies.
My favorite blog, which focuses on economics and anti-IP maximalism, also doesn't paint them is a good light.
You'd THINK (unlike the Fox news guys) that those moron-faces would realize that every person that does their research would figure out that Fox News = Stupid A-hole, but noooooooo. They're. Still. Re. port. ing. Dumb. Crud.

I got that feeling too, back in those days where almost everyone on NG was a liberal atheist, made Bush out to be like worse than Hitler, and the Iraq war was considered illegal. Good times to be had by all.
As for O'Reilly, he's irrelevant to me. The last thing that I remember him making an ass out of himself was his anti-video game rants, which obviously had no merits and most people with more than 2 brain cells working knew that it was a lost cause after 2007. Ever since then, I stopped giving a rat's ass about O'Reilly because he's already been discredited with the rest of the media, {or stopped giving a shit for that matter.} and the only people who still watch that drivel are the usual soccermoms and the Evangelical bunch.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
