It is bullshit, but it's a fact. Most places have those cameras now, schools, shopping malls, supermarkets, company workplaces. You could fight all you want about it invading your privacy, but they could fight back just as hard about it being necessary. Certain schools can (and do) get away with certain things, eg my high school could randomly check lockers, they did not need permission or reason. Just grab a key and open it up.

persons = personal bodies, i.e that's why the fourth amendment is known as the 'unreasonable search and siezure" amendment. Also, this right prevents arrests without due cause.An 'effect' is a personal belonging or property. i.e. the government can't take your land, house or car just because they dont like your viewpoints.

I dont think this amendment will help you too much with cameras in schools because schools are public forums that are technically owned by the government. the same thing goes for lockers; the government built them, or paid for them to be built, and is just letting you use the locker during your time in school.

I know i sound like a stuffed shirt legal conservative, but i'm not.

If you think lockers and cameras in schools are bad, wait until you're in college and the RA's have a right to enter your dorm room anytime they damn well please , and the residence halls all have cameras watching every room that is not a dorm room or bathroom. that really sucks, but there's nothing we can do about it.

One time in college, I ditched for about a week (long story) and my mother was trying to get a hold of me in my dorm. She couldn't, so she called one of my professors, who said I'd hadn't been in class. So she then called my RA, who went into my room and searched through my things to find a clue to where I'd gone.

Good thing I kept the porn extra hidden.

Unfortunately the senate had ruled that minors don't have full amandment rights so the school could do what they wish even though I am totally against it. Minors should have full amandment rights unless the guardian gives someone else to violate the minor's amandment right. The guardian should also be informed about everything that is threatening to their child and not have it kept a secret from them. I hate Dr. Laura, her views are completely oppisite of Mines!

I kinda reminded of me of something be In my senoir yearin high school. Something happend between period were we had a bomb threat, This was back in November that year way before Columbine incident,So they had all of us go to bleecher in the football field, while they search our backpacks,If your wondering.We didn't had personal lockers at our school only PE locklers.Well anyways I was upset because this happend becuase without notice of whatever,but I was about ready to go on an angry tyraid,So I think We're stuck there for at 1 hr and a 1/2 or so,I was in bad mood and I felt like bitting some people's heads off, We finally able to leave around lunch time,I think I came down a little bit,afterwards I fell I should tell my parents about this and I did.I just told them I was upset that search my backpack without my permission.
I told my Parent I wanted to sue the school,They told me no. I wonder what whould happend if they say, yes?

I know that couldn't happen back then but I really wanted to sue the school eversince 5th or 6th grade,Beacuase thoose were the years that those teachers and adminastrators that really got on my case. Espicially This one principal I hated him with passion sorta,but I was going tough times in 6th grade and I think he know or even care about it but, I think I remeber I have to go to the prinipal's office but I think I trying run away or something,He and a few teachers were holding me down on a chair and I remeber giving them the "one finger salute" and I also kick him "where it hurts" you know what I'm talking about. So after they called my mom, and Mom was like " I can't Believe you did this, kicking the principal" and I said something like "but my mom he desreve it" To this day I still hated some principals back then.

You know, I'm not sure what would have happened if someone was caught with porn in their rooms, although some people were getting into trouble for checking it out in the computer labs. All girls Catholic schools frown upon that sort of thing.

I also often wonder what would have happened if I ever got caught with my girlfriend staying over.
