C++ Compiler? Jun. 6th, 2012 @ 09:34 AM Reply

I've been searching for a C++ Compiler(IDE optional) and all i could use was Bloodshed's Dev C++ which most people hate because it's outdated(?)
Any suggestions?
Oh and it should be free

You could go for gcc/g++ which are provided by the MinGW or Cygwin tools.

Are you a student? If so you could opt in on microsofts dreamsparkprogram. If you get verified you can use VS2008/VS2010/VS11 for free. Express and professional editions.

You get Visual Studio Express Editions for free regardless of being a DreamSpark applicant.

I'd suggest either Visual C++ Express or Code::Blocks.

Yeah, Visual C++. Bloodshed being outdated is an understatement, the thing is ancient.

well i didn't use c++ since one year, but my favorite IDE to program in c++ is codeblocks, because is very similar than Devcpp, it runs on windows and gnu/linux and its free.
