3.89 / 5.00 24,705 ViewsHave you ever become very attached to the storyline in a game?
When I was much younger I played the Square Enix game 'The World Ends With You' and about 3/4 of the way through the game my game card glitched and it became unplayable.
It's hard to admit but I actually cried once because I wanted to find out what happened next in the game. After I fixed it (by trying it over and over) and completed the game I was depressed for a few days after because I hate when stories end.
Any else have similar experiences?
inFAMOUS, Heavy Rain, and Mass Effect. But not Uncharted, strangely enough.

The ending of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Both beautiful, and very sad.
Well MGS3 always gets to me right at the end, and depending on the outcome in Mass Effect 2 it can really get me emotional. Especially when the person I romanced dies in the suicide mission.
Heads or tails?
The Mass Effect Series, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Metro 2033, Fallout 3: Broken Steel (the other DLC really didn't matter to me.)
Besides the entire Half-Life series I really can't think of anything else... Maybe Mafia 1 and 2?
Y u mad tho?
What's more upsetting, Aeris dying, or realizing you wasted hours grinding?
When Luna "dies" in Megaman Star Force 3. It wasn't like Aeris' death because since people don't talk about it all the time, you never expect it.
Honestly, not so much. When I was younger I got upset because I accidentally released my Dragonite, and far more recently I choked up a few times in Katawa Shoujo, but other than that... meh. I'll sometimes be like "Haha, fuck you." when I defeat a villain I particularly dislike or something.
"Anything could happen in the next half hour!"
"For the love of God, don't stop pretending you're a dragon!"
The only reason I don't have Heavy Rain is because I know that if I screw up and get a character killed, I'll never forgive myself
This is my signature. It is a nice signature.
ive never gotten emotional over storylines in games
not to say that im dead inside or anything like that, i just try to stay a little detached. I mean, it is just a game in the end.

Nothing comes to mind really. I've never really been an RPG person, I wish I was but the ones I've played just bore me. I like Mass Effect though, if I ever get round to completing that then I'd probably get attached to it (haven't touched it in a while since I lost 2 hours of progress thanks to me being stupid and not saving frequently.)

Back in the day 2 of my cousins erased my pokemon gold saved game that I had spent over 100 hours trying to level up my pokemons. I was really attached to it.
SPOILER ALERT
.....
I cried when Isara died in Valkyria Chronicles. I also cried playing FFX-2 during the "1000 words cinematic".
... Also cried when it took me 2 hours to be a boss in Star Ocean: The Last Hope to be confronted with a 45 min unskippable cinematic... to have the game freeze as soon as that cinematic finished... To have to do it all over again.. Including the boss.
I might have also cried when I couldn't get past the 2nd boss in Ninja Gaiden...

not usually but if i do get emotional, it will probably be with an rpg or something i would have put a lot of time into. three games spring to mind though
1) metal gear solid. that game had such an affect on me because i played it from start to finish practically non-stop so i got REALLY immersed. grey fox's last scene hit me like a truck and i think i almost shed a tear.
2) final fantasy 7. i played it when i was very young and i hadn't played a game like it before. i just got really attached to the characters - not aeris though, that whore.
3) metal gear solid 3. i don't even need to say any more than that. ;-;
hey
Flower (the desire for peace in my life), Limbo (the uncertainty of our long-term goals), Shadow of the Colossus (the beautiful things that must be destroyed so other beautiful things can survive, and most of all, Journey (The unexpected obstacles of solitude. I don't know but during the credits I couldn't stop thinking about my grandfather)
I teared to kingdom hearts 2, I really don't know why. But it's one of those games you can have a good time with.
Brink, I nearly cried over the fact that I wasted five dollars on that piece of shit.

She poured it on so fucking thick with the crying during her speech I just got annoyed and detached.
I haven't played Metal gear solid 3 yet. But I teared up in MGS 4
Spoilers: when snake has to crawl through the microwave hallway and he's almost at the end. I never mashed a button harder in my life. It was the first time you ever see snake so helpless and that got to me.
Jehuty, the ultimate mech!
MGS3 and 4 both get to me. The Boss's death in 3 is always sad to me and nothing can make me stop crying during Naomi's death scene in 4.
I cried a few times throughout the Mass Effect trilogy.
Yeah, whatever.
Whenever I beat a game I get happy. Its a feeling of accomplishment.
