I usually think these kinds of things are really asinine, and just stupid, but in this one instance, it sounds badass as fuck

saw the preview in a theater with one of my friends.
He says it sounds great, and I say it sounds stupid, asinine, and repetitive.

I simply cannot imagine the film being good when Tim Burton is releasing 3 movies in the same year.
"I need a katana to slice a banana"
It looks amazing to me, fuck you guys.
In the extended trailer it's hinted at that the confederates were all vampires rising up to take America as an undead nation.

lovely. That's just what we needed.
Now all the kids are going to grow up thinking Christmas was made because of Saint Nick, and Edward and friends tried to take over America until Abraham Lincoln slayed them.

Oh yes, because it's important that non Christians know how Christmas was made, and a single movie is going to make an entire generation of Americans will change their knowledge of things

not what I was looking for, but disturbing nonetheless
I think it's important. I'm agnostic, and I know it marked the birth of Christ, and also served as a "smooth transition" from Pegans to Christians.
And movies are already changing history in the eyes of young'uns O.o
ahh, that's it, right here

That's true, but how is it disturbing?
Unless you're a devout Christian there's no reason to give a fuck about the birth of Jesus. When I grew up it was just a holiday celebrating generosity and gift-giving.
All I can say is lol.
The preview is lols to.

I'm just saying movies like these encourage kids to go around saying that "wise men found out about jesus's birth through facebook" (though I actually laughed pretty hard on that one)
now that I think about it, I think the parents should have at least told their kids WHY they're celebrating the holiday.
And come on, the whole Edward vs Abraham Lincoln thing was funny >.>

Ever since I saw the poster I can't tell whether its going to be good or utter crap. I'm probably just going to play it safe and give it a rental.

Perhaps, I just fail to see how it could be harmful. At worst it would be slightly annoying until the kid grew out of believing that.

The mental image made me chuckle.
Tim Burton is the director, if anything it'll be scary as fuck, or funny as hell.

You're saying 5-7 year olds are saying/thinking stupid things? When did this happen?

All of the time, 5 years olds are generally interested in their birth, becauase they are in school and see others faiths as well.
Actually, 5 year olds always ask question that might seem stupid too you, but probably helps them develop
