4.01 / 5.00 42,020 ViewsHere I am, talking again about Facebook. However, this trash from the wretched guilty pleasure of mine has bled over into the real world. Everyday, I hear kids born in 1999 bragging about how "the 90's were awesome, bro!" and how much they loved this decade. However, it seems that people born earlier, say 1992 or so, don't talk about the 90's near as much, even though they most likely remember them a whole lot better than a little twat born later in the decade. Anyway, does anybody else have to deal with kids at the pool or wherever the fuck you hang out yelling about how nostalgic the 90's were?
I just wanted to get that hate-filled rant out of my head...
Don't bitch about me greentexting.

You should consider disabling your Facebook account. People such as yourself (those who seem to get upset about every status update they come across) would be a good deal happier, I would think, if they didn't have to lay eyes on these things that they hate so much.
Think about it, and keep in mind that it is entirely possible to stay in touch with friends without Facebook via text messages, phone calls, or even meeting in real life from time to time. Good luck.
I'm sick of this 90s pride bullshit in general. Fuck the 90s. I've been enjoying the 21st century much. much more than the stupidass 1990s.
I find it ridiculously annoying. At first, it wasn't too bad, nothing's wrong with an occasional bit of nostalgia, but the overuse of it soon took over, and alongside that misuse. Now, the inability to check Facebook without a half dozen 'like n share dis if u remembur this' images popping up, spread around by the same kind of awful people who use 9gag.

The 90s were quite awesome, let people have their fun with it.
Am I the only one who's aware of how good we all have it compared to then?
Although I did love the 90's the 2000's were certainly interesting. With the impending doom of Y2K as well as everything becoming all high tech and futuristic, even though we didn't really get that status until around 2008-2010. Remember when AOL was cool and dial-up was the shit? Now it's just plain shit.
To be honest I prefer the 90's music over the shit you have today, but I don't go flapping my gums to everyone how it's better than "said time" I just keep quiet and enjoy it.
Who gives a shit about these kids, 90's sucked anyways.
It's all about pokemon and "awesome childhood" in 9gag, but they're just retarded.

I was born in '87 but I consider myself a 90s kids. My first memories started in the 90s and the 90s were my childhood. I'm not going to identify with 80s stuff I don't remember and had no experience with. I mean, you think I knew what leg warmers were when I was a baby? No! So I would figure kids born in the late 90s would identify as millennium kids instead of 90s kids.
And I think I know what you mean about facebook. That retarded "like if you remember this extremely popular thing because it makes you cool and edgy and original to have this as nostalgia even though everyone remembers it". Stupid shit just to get a whole bunch of likes. How do people not see right through that? I'm like "well yes I remember that but why the fuck would I want to like this, I don't need some sort of validation and this is just a desperate attempt to get a bunch of likes".
Though I guess the people who spread those "pass this along or your mom's gonna get killed by a girl who lives in the sewer as a ghost cuz her schoolmates bullied her to death" things are worse.

Really?
In the '90s the economy was good, certain foods tasted better, and there were no wars (for the US and allies) after 1991.

Everything that made the 90s great was because of Bill Clinton. I love Bill Clinton. Hillary 08 you guys, make sure to vote. We all know it would just be extra terms for Bill and how awesome would it be to have our first person to be President and first man? Bill Clinton can!

This is something that angers me too. I was born in mid '91 and can remember bits from around '95 onwards. I think that the kids that were born from '96 to '99 just say that they like the 90's because it seems cool to be nostalgic and look back on a past decade. Plus who cares for the 00's. Not much happened in my opinion.
My advice to you would be to do what I do with kids like that and start asking them questions about the 90's that are designed to trick them and make them look like an idiot. For example, ask them about "early 90's bands that everybody liked" that are really completely made up or from the 70's or something. When they react with "I remember them" simply laugh.
Well now it's in my head and I gotta share. Remember to vote you guys!

This is a very good idea! Lolololol. I don't get when people pretend to be something they are not. Though I can't really blame them. The 90s was one of the best decades.

Born in '92 and I hated the 90s. I miss the stupid shows we had like Celebrity Deathmatch, the original Beavis and Butthead, and of course the entire Toonami programming. But I'd never go back. I fucking hated the "oh look at me I'm depressed" music. And if it wasn't that music it was "oh look at me, tee hee I play pop music." Go look at a picture from the 90s, the people don't even look interesting.
A big mistake people who don't remember the 90s make is putting the 90s together with the 80s. Doom, Diablo, Duke Nukem 3D, they were 90s games. The 80s was big hair and bright clothing. The 90s was dark clothing and more flat hair. Metal was dying around this time, a big example being Bruce Dickinson leaving Iron Maiden for a while.
I miss a lot of things from around that time, but most of the good things stayed. And those that didn't were replaced for the most part. Time goes forward.
On an odd note I was looking up toonami about a week back and realised I remember it since the very beginning. I'm actually pretty sick of these 13 and 14 year old kids saying they remember Toonami when they can't even remember the fat Tom, nor Lockdown. The kind of people who don't remember Brisk tea, Tekken, Surge, Warheads, koolaid in a plastic bottle, gamegear, or any of these. No kid, you were born in the age of computers.

I was born in 83 and identify with the 90's more. Sure, I was old enough to appreciate some of the cool things of the 80's aimed at kids. But I became a teenager and spent the majority of those years growing up and appreciating the 90's and experiencing more than a handful of things that EVERYONE alive in the 90's remembers whether they liked it or not.

The good thing about the 90s is mainstream stuff wasnt boring, and there werent loads of idiots on the internet.
I was born in '92, and I try not to praise the 90's so much. I mostly enjoyed the cartoons and video games, though. I don't talk much about it, though, I'll just play a few games, and watch a few cartoons for nostalgia every once in a while.

Pretty much everyone born in 1995-1999 aren't actually "90s kids" since the majority of their childhood memories are from the early 2000s. Anyway I don't see how its much different - we still have Pokemon, old 90s programs are still alive through reruns on Nicktoons and Cartoon Network. You're all looking through rose tinted glasses.
Maybe you should talk to the ones who were born in 80's. For they were high school in that decade. I mean the mos memorable part of your life is the HS right?! So definitely they were the ones who were born in the 80's.
I have more memories from the 90s then from the 00s ...i can't explain why but i'll bet i'm not the only one.
I still have the feeling that the 90s were only 10 years ago
