Good. I got home late today, so now I can still see the full match.

I got France and England winning 2-1 this round. I'm having a pretty good streak right now, predicting Italy vs Croatia and Holland vs Germany correctly and getting the winner of the other two matches right. If I keep this up I might even end up pretty close to the top of the rankings.

That was beautiful to watch. I also learned, if something like this happens during the third games (all third games of all groups are played simultanously), then the other game has to be stopped as well. Now just imagine, Ireland would lead against Spain and then the game has to be started all over, because the other game had to be cancelled due to weather conditions.

Oh some predictions contest I joined, just for fun. About 230000 people are competing, but personally I'm mostly competing with some friends of mine to see who gets the most points.

I have to say that Ukraine vs France hasn't been a very interesting match. Okay there were two goals, but those are about the only highlights in this match as far as I can see.

It was in the first half. With Swedens equalizer it became much more lively. Equalizer for England was a big blunder from the swedish keeper. Nothing would've happened if he hadn't moved. Oh well, I think we might see some more goals before the final whistle.

Watching England is like playing that game with a pair of scissors where you place your hand on a desk, fingers spread wide and then quickly jab the scissors in between your fingers hoping and trying not to nip your fingers. Ha, the many mysteries of the English language! For what its worth Sweden have been much more impressive in the second half- I'm almost hiding behind the sofa whenever they have the ball!

Why can't England defend crossed anymore? I thought that was one of our great strengths in world football, but apparently not. At times this second half has been like the Germany game from the world cup, with our defence desperately chasing back and heavily outnumbered on the break. Again, I just don't understand why we can't defend these situations! We will be murdered playing like this against a better side.

Brilliant goal by Welbeck, Hodgson got his tactics completely right tonight, not his fault we conceded to poor goals. Great decision to start Carroll and then bring on Walcott.

We had only 1 good player on our team.

Words cannot describe how fucking mental I went in the pub throughout the entire 90 minutes. Fucking England, we can't have a standard 2 or 3-0 no let's have the most heart wrenching and "entertaining' game of the entire fucking tournament. But let's be honest we would have it any other way. One thing that proves is that we got some guts, it was scrappy and messy but we showed some fucking class at times as well, Welbeck's finish was something else and what a strike from Walcott, and of course we scored a typical England goal with Carrol.

Nah, Welbeck is pure class he knew just what to do, a little touch to take it into the corner and he won it for us his improvisation is great, he also showed it against Belgium in a friendly.

Poland vs Czech Rep on the TV, Russia vs Greece here on my laptop... it is just as well my fiancee likes football as well! Rooting for the Poles and Russians, both have played attractive attacking football this tournament, and it would be great to see one of the hosts reach the last 8.

Surely even Mr Pessimism yourself can't see Germany losing to Denmark later, and then losing to Greece! Struggling to break down defensive sides is one thing, losing to a team like Greece is entirely another. They aren't even especially good defensively this year, unlike 2004! I would honestly have said they were the worst side in the tournament until yesterday (along side Ireland).

I'd be perfectly happy with quarter finals (which seems likely now). Barring a heavy victory over the Ukraine or France slipping up the chances are Spain await in the next round, and I don't see us beating them. Semi finals would be bordering on miraculous (probably Germany in the semi?).
