I can guarantee my life on it that England will do nothing again, most probably lose to Sweden and France and Draw with the Ukraine. Sky news is going to rant on about how it is there time to win and when they lose...again they will be pissed off supporters who blame everyone and everybody for the teams failure but the real reason they fail so badly is because they generally are not as good as teams such as Spain, Germany,Holland etc.
But good luck to them anyway,
Actually for the first time in ages the press seem to be as negative as everybody else. Nobody thinks we stand a chance, probably justifiably, and given we have now lost 4 squad members to injury before the tournament has even started, and changed our manager just weeks before the start this pessimism will only continue. It is quite refreshing to think that getting out of the group will be seen as an achievment this time around, though I'd like to think we should manage that in a comparatively weak group.
Starting lineup for England in the first game (or at least what I would like to see)?
Hart
Johnson (though would have preferred Richards had he been in the squad...) Terry Jagielka Cole
Walcott Gerrard Parker Young
Caroll Welbeck/Defoe
A nice balance of attack and defence, and plenty of pace and power up front. It won't be this side sadly (Milner will likely start, or even worse Downing), but I can see it evolving into a side similar to this when Rooney returns (in place of Caroll), forcing Young to left midfield.
