I'd have to say my favourite book is George Orwell's 1984. It is fun to read, and at the end when you put the book down you find yourself thinking of your opinions on life, society and existence itself. I still lie awake at night thinking about the concepts and then rethinking and rethinking again.
Not only is it an amazing, well written and deep book, but it has also affected today's culture, many of the terms that Orwell created are still used decades later.

My favourite book series is the his dark materials trilogy by Philip Pullman.
Normally I would say gay porn picture book, but I'm feeling serious for a second, so I'm going to say my favorite book is Steve-O: Professional Idiot It's his autobiography. He's been through a lot of shit, and it's really inspiring. It's just a great read, I highly recommend you check it out.

Wow, that is a surprisingly difficult question.
(after thinking for about five minutes)
I would have to say - as a series - Dennis L. McKiernan's Mithgar series
However, as an individual book, I find Michio Kaku's Physics of the Future quite interesting

Every single time I visit these threads I forget everything I've seen/read/done etc and remember only one thing. Since that one thing is Animal Farm, I'll go with that...for now.

Yay Marxism!
If it actually worked, it would - in my opinion - be the best political system out there!

If Marxism could work people would be so fantastic we wouldn't need a system at all.

But it's hard to say what my favorite is. I've read a ton in the past but lately I've found it difficult to actually getting around to finishing books, other than the ones I have to read for school. Animal Farm is up there on my list with the Sherlock Holmes books and some other books from when I was younger, but I can't put my finger on one that really stands out from the others in terms of how much I like it.
You look nice today.
This guy brutally sodomizes me.
Cereal is pretty cool. If you're cool you'll add me on Steam. Also, Letterboxd.
My favorite book is a tie between "Of Mice and Men" and "Watership Down".
Kinda funny to choose both of those, now that I think about it...
1984, A Clockwork Orange, The Light Fantastic, the Myth of Sisyphus and Time in a Nutshell are my top 5 in no order. Clichéd and pretentious I know.

It's a tie between George Orwell's Animal Farm and Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange.

Actually I can't pin it down to just one. I have 6, they are all by the incredible (but sadly deceased) author Douglas Adams and in no particular order here they are.
1. The Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy.
2. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
3. Life, the universe and everything.
4. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
5. Mostly Harmless.
6. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
As for why? If you have read them you would understand why!

I'd say either Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy or The Hot Zone by Richard Preston.

As cliche and pretentious as this sounds, I'm going to have to go with A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. It presents a very powerful message regarding choice and one's humanity.
Suicide notes has to be one of the best books I've ever read. It's about a kid named Jeff, he ends up in a mental ward because of his past attempt to kill himself. Reading through the book, Jeff meets a dude named Rankin and gives him oral sex in the showers ( also jacks off Rankin too). Of course, Jeff is sexually confused ( he also likes this bitch named Sadie, but she goes "an hero" later in the book) and learns he's gay ( the reason why he tried to kill himself). The book's remarkably funny and real. I really liked Jeff's dialogue as well.
The Alchemist.
I loved it, and if you're thinking of that damn anime, please leave.

Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Graphic and disturbing, but definitely worth the read.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. While the rest of the series is really good, the first book is the best. A 14-year-old is a master criminal, kidnaps a fairie (their equivalent of a member of a SWAT team no less), AND helps his butler and maid survive an explosion powerful enough to kill EVERY SINGLE THING IT TOUCHES by putting sleeping pills in their drinks, and that's all in the first book! How awesome is that?
And of course The Pendragon Adventure: Merchant of Death by D. J. MacHale . The whole series is a bit like Doctor Who mixed with a TINY bit of Harry Potter.

No matter what you think of the views presented in Animal Farm, you have to admit that it wasn't that great of a book. Too... simple.

A lot of George Orwell's shit is great, I personally loved Animal Farm, but I'd have to say my favorite book is the Anarchist's Cookbook.
