my art is getting such bad critiques on conceptart.org. Its really demoralizing. Its mostly the same thing, "work on perspective".

Basically my perspective is SO BAD to the point i shouldn't draw anything other then with a ruler to fine tone my perspective. I was told to trash previous projects and everything. Even to redo my entire penguin project here.

Considering i get next to 0 comments on this site i doubt many people really read this thread but anyway.

My sister wants me to draw number 5 but with a smaller table and more penguins.

It's always sprayed with fixatif and hes going to hang it on his wall too. My brother likes it so thats all that matters, time to study fundamentals to improve my art.

I like this picture, I like the shadings and how you managed to make something 3D kinda fit into a 2D space. A bit like how Salvador Dali did with most of his art.

Especially The Clouds touches me. GJ

I am nowhere near comparison to Dali. Although people have mentioned his name before. Thanks for the very generous compliment.

This is already in another thread but i want it in my art thread too.

I redrew and changed the lighting of this whole picture and added some things i got from critiques over the 3 - 4 years its been lurking the internet.

I am now uploading videos on youtube. Check them out when you get the time. I am new to recording videos and am also doing it with my ipod, i am showing the detailing and shading process right now on the perspective drawing.

It's going to take some time to finish it, so be patient. Some videos will be jumped hours afterwards (progress of drawing) because i don't want to force everyone to sit down and watch every second of my drawing. They would fall asleep no matter how much i talked.

you should smudge the pencil with your fingers, you can make the pencil lines within the shadows disappear.

Or use a tortillion, or roll up some paper yourself, or a tissue, or anything, really (including your finger).

You have options~

Or paintburshes, a plastic eraser, q-tips, cross hatching lightly instead of piling graphite, too much graphite on the paper, not showing hardlines in shadows etc etc etc
