I dont want to decipher some hidden message everytime i try to buy something or even post a comment on youtube, it makes me not want to do things. How many companies do you think have lost sales due to "Buyers Friction"? Buyers friction is when you go to but something and you have to jump through hoops, such as verifying your email, captchas, verifying credit card to prove age and etc, especially when companies like amazon and apple have one click buy things to make it all easier
People still attempt to use macros on sites, Captcha stops that. Fun fact: every Captcha text comes from old books and scripts that can't be deciphered by a computer, and when you translate it, you're actually helping translate old texts. Usually old newspapers.

Interesting but for somethings such as posting comments, i shouldnt have to do it more than once in one session because if i already did it once why would i need to do it again?

It could be to prevent spamming, since you could be a spam bot.
Fun Fact: Most of the old texts in Captchas are from the Necronomicon. So by solving Captchas you are actually helping Cthulhian cultists summon the Great Old Ones.

Because if they only made you do it once, you could type in the captcha and then let your spam bot loose.

That is interesting, actually.

That's probably because you've either spammed too much, or you're posting a lot of comments with short intervals.

the second word in the captcha is the one you 'translate', you only need to enter the first one correctly then the second one you don't.

That's because you don't have to type both words. The one that's either a number, foreign language or has normal formatting isn't checked. You only have to type the one that's distorted in some way.

What I heard was that in Google's captchas (or maybe any captcha with two words), the 2nd word is a word from a newspaper or a book that a computer couldn't decipher. But that can't be the case with -every- captcha, I could imagine.
But hey, I'm no captchspert.
The Cult of Inglip is a bastardization of the wondrous terrors that are the Outer Gods.
Nyarlathotep sits in Azathoth's court with the foolish cultists squarely in his gaze, biding his time until he will unleash horrors innumerable.
