Youtube user sues troll

That's right, The fat aussie barstard is suing a youtube troll that made websites about him with his and his family's personal information on them. TFAB works in IT, so it wasn't hard for him to track this person down...now he's hired a lawyer and plans to bankrupt the guy, or see him in jail.

Well, while you are free to troll to you hearts content, I suppose maliciously tracking down someone's family members and persistently harassing the hell out of someone online can have the same consequences as in real life. Almost like virtual stalking.

Either way, the internet is a free place where you can say whatever you want without much worry of being judged or berated.
That being said, if you have some prick following your every virtual move in order to cripple you and your loved ones online, is the internet really that "free" of a place anymore?

Part of me hopes he destroys the guy, the other hopes this disappears.

In Canada you cannot say legally "I will Sue you"
under our law and culture it is considered assault in the verbal kind and can be considered a inditable offence

If the troll is just posting "your videos suck" once on each of his videos, thats not a good reason.

If the troll is doing his damn best to fill his emails of him and his family with hate spam and every account of every website they go on, he may have a case here.

Because im sure freedom of speech doesnt permit hate speech to a certain degree when it starts actually preventing the person from living their life like everyone else.

So the troll got his personal information? well once that information is up it would be impossible to take it down because a bunch of "Internet freedom" fags would start reposting it again because they can and would just draw more antention to it all.

I think that guy's actions surpassed trolling. Putting private information on a public website is plain harassment. I don't see how people can find amusement in this. Same as with Jessie Slaughter. I mean yeah, she was a complete bitch, but getting phonecalls from hundreds of unknown people all day is just taking things a step too far.

He's not suing the person for 'trolling'. He's suing the person for harassment and illegally distributing private information about someone (which is a form of identity theft, I believe). That's illegal in most countries, which should be easy to see when worded like that. I hope the Australian gets proper compensation for the actions against him (I don't think he can just say 'bankrupt the prick lol', but jail time is plausible), and I hope the private information that was posted doesn't allow people to harm him later using it.
