Voice Actor! Where do I start? 2012-05-23 01:54:09 Reply

Hello everyone! I have a very simple question. As a guy who has been wanting and practice voice acting, my question is "Where do I start exactly?" I mean I've never actually professionally done voice acting yet but I really want to get to my dream. A little help?

The best place to start is by downloading Audacity. Then make some recordings - samples for your voices, ranges and basic examples of what you are capable of. Upload these to the Audio Portal and from there, advertise yourself in the appropriate thread in the Audio Forum

I strongly suggest becoming a member of either/both
Voice acting club, and/or Voice acting alliance. They are free-to-join websites
that hold auditions for fan-dubs, original works, etc. There are great places
to join to gather some experience, and they will also host your demo reel.
If you would like to know anything else please feel free to message me!
But I recommend that they are great places to start!

Check out the VA Wanted and VA Advertising threads in the audio forum. They've got some helpful info in the opening posts. You can also check the collaboration forum ...it's a huge mess, but there are TONS of people looking for VA's there. Good luck! :D
