Arma Ii: Dayz Survival Thread

If any of you watch Criken (popular internet boy), you'd have noticed he live-streamed the Arma 2 mod, DayZ for four hours. Upon watching this, I orgasmed many times and bought the game. I do not regret it.

So, if you're a survivor, a bandit, an admin, or a conspiracy theorist, share your stories and tips here!
Currently, I play proudly as a Survivor, hating Bandit Scum.

Here, I'll share my story:
Earlier, my friend and I decided to do a raid of Stary Sobor. We were excited, so we rushed in without thinking too much. This was our most foolish mistake. While my friend was checking the loot in one of the barracks, I noticed another survivor at the end of the row. I got scared, and looked where my friend was, wondering if it was just lag. He was checking loot. I went behind the barrack, informing my friend there was someone there. Getting close to the other survivor, let's call him Black Shirt, my friend also locked eyes. Suddenly, three shots rung out from behind me, and my friend dropped over dead. Black Shirt's friend had snuck up behind my friend and shot him in the back of the head. I ran over to Black Shirt with my Remington 870, and shot him dead. Adrenaline pumped my system. I looked at my debug monitor and my heart sank.

Humanity: 336
My Humanity was at 3320 not a moment before. Turns out they were Russian, which is why Black Shirt hadn't responded to my "Friendly?" call. I hauled ass out of there, mostly because my computer has a terrible FPS and can't handle gun fights. My friend had died, shot in cold blood, without warning. My first murder was avenging my best friend. I have regained my humanity to 3000, and hope to never again kill another Survivor.

That said, I fucking hate Russians. One tailed me from Balota to Chernogorsk just to kill me for my Remington. Thankfully, I aborted (from rage) before the server saved, so I still had my Remington and Frag!
He said, and I quote, "remington shutgunne very nic"
Everyone in chat promptly told him to "shut the fuck up".

ANYHOW, had to get that off my chest. Any stories of your own? The Radio thread on the official forums has me convinced there's some UVB-76 shit goin' on.

I wandered around for about 2 hours without meeting a single person. Then I killed a chicken in some barn, thinking I would be able to cook and eat it. Couldn't figure out how to do that, so I walked outside.
Dead. I just died when I walked out the door. Didn't even get to see the person that killed me. 2 hours completely wasted.

Why is this thread not popular? It is really addicting once you get into it. I am on my fourth life and I manage to make great progress. Found a couple of water bottles, some food, two sodas, and a crossbow. Down below is my progress from start (blue) to finish (black).

Haven't played this in awhile though because I've been busy, but it's fun as hell. You never know what's going to happen

As of today, I died. I didn't make it much farther in the map because I got ambushed by a ton of zombies...

I spent 2 hours running from Elecktro to the NW airbase with only 15 bullets of a winchester, then I hid in a hangar to open up the steam browser and look on the wiki what items I could find at the base. As soon as I came back, I stood up and got headshotted. 2 hours wasted..
