Is Obama pushing for that train? 2012-05-20 03:24:51

And if Las Vegas Casino's want it so bad, they can pay for it out of their own filthy rich pockets. I don't see why us Tax payers need to pay 5 million dollars for a train/tram that we don't even want there. Maybe Obama and his rich far-left Actor friends can pay for that stupid train/tram.

What are you talking about, why is it an issue, and what do you want to hear about it from us?

We're in debt, that is the issue. Why are you even in the politics part of Newgrounds if you don't want to talk about politics?

Allow me to clarify my question:

Don't give us a shit non-explanation about a mysterious train we've never heard of, then expect us to have sort of miraculous insight about it when all you gave us to go on was "it's all Obama's fault and it's stupid".

What is this train's alleged purpose? Where exactly is the funding for the project coming from? Why do you think the costs of the train outweigh the possible benefits? At the very least give us a link to read up on; if it's such an important issue, then surely it's been in the news somewhere. The essence of a discussion in this forum is knowing what is being discussed, and all you gave us was "that train," as if it was common knowledge what you were talking about.

It's on NBC, ABC, CBS news. If you actually followed politics than you would already know about this.

So in other words, you can't link to it because it doesn't exist.

Are you talking about the trams that run up and down the Strip? Those have been running for years. Unless they're building a new one?

Yeah, not all of us live in Nevada, so a link WOULD be helpful.

first off he's most likely talking about the L.A. to L.V. super speed train that cant get you there in about an hour. for those on the east coast it's just like the accel train ran buy amtrac. (Dc to Nyc in 1.25 hrs) if that is what the op is talking about then i agree it's a waste of money (harry reid proposed it i believe) it been in the planning stages for years and has hi opposition because Ca. is broke and would have to pay millions to build the tracks in Ca. nevada on the other hand (only rumors cant find anything new on it) has already built the tracks to the Ca. line and wants Ca. to build. that said, this all in the hopes that the 4 hrs driving time that they think stops many in L.A. from taking weekend trips to L.V. can be cut shorter an make more people come to vegas and lose all their money.

that just about sums it up

This link is more recent. If this is what the OP is talking about, then from the looks of things the Federal Railroad Administration already has the money reserved in a pre-existing fund, resulting in a tax increase for...no one.

If you had a real point to make you should have elaborated on the issue of the train (added a few links, given a simple back-story, etc) rather than put a gigantic unrelated picture of a bush/obama mash-up in your post. Even though you claim that this is headline news, it's not.

In the future, please do not leave it up to the other posters to guess what it is you are talking about.

That's actually a good point. This should be a private investment, but both parties are in the hands of the banks and rich guys, and the rich guys stay rich by getting taxpayers to pay for stuff that should be privately funded.

Citizens United is the true problem. Get rid of that, Obama wouldn't have to kiss these guy's asses.

no, really...DON'T CLICK THE PIC

And with that...I think it's lock time. Mostly because the OP has a responsibility to source and talk about his own damn stories and not make potential respondents do the leg work. Lurk more OP and see how things work in this forum before making such poorly constructed topics.
