Well, I've only been through a TSA checkpoint once before during a trip to Hollywood with my father. The worst of it was that my father was randomly selected to be frisked, mainly because he had a little metal all-purpose knife that he had forgotten about in his pocket and he had to turn it over to them. Everything was fine other than that.

I suppose it would be more problematic for a person that does a lot of flying, but considering that was my first time both dealing with the TSA, and flying in general, I thought it wasn't that bad.

On one hand, I'd like Murrica to be safe from bombs. On the other hand, the TSA seems too paranoid. Can't really be too careful nowadays though. The full body scanners are definitely a violation of privacy, shouldn't be too bad unless you have.. insecurities.

I don't care about them frisking me or making me get in front of the naked scanner. I've flown several times the last 2 years and through major airports. The worst that happened during security screening is they asked me to take off my cardigan which I was mostly wearing to cover my boobs. So they got to see some cleavage.

Now, what DID piss me off, is at one airport, someone went through my checked luggage, NOT carry on and took some lotion and other cosmetics. It wasn't breaking any rules. It was checked. and they didn't leave a note saying they took it, I just got to my destination and said "wtf, where are my cosmetics???"

The TSA's main goals (trying to keep the flying public safe) may be laudable, but I can't say the same thing about the ways in which they go about trying to achieve those goals.

I especially hate the ban on large amounts of liquids and aerosols in carry-ons. The last time I flew, nearly a year ago, I had 2 unopened bottles of vitamin water and a large can of Lysol confiscated by the TSA even though I was fully cognizant of the ban which had already been in place for a long time. My flight was booked last minute due to a bus lateness disaster, and I wasn't really intending on flying in my original plan. The 3-1-1 rule for carry-ons should be thrown out--it makes more sense to just check all liquids for explosive elements. How much or how little of each liquid there is shouldn't be relevant.

Some of the other prohibited carry-on items don't make much sense either, like lacrosse sticks for instance. Who the fuck can take over a plane with that? If you people were flight attendants, would any of you piss yourselves if I threatened you with a lacrosse stick and said, "MOVE OVER BITCH--I WANT TO SEE THE CAPTAIN"?

I dont really have a problem with the TSA, ive never had any issues with em. I travel light, i dont bring lotions shampoo or whatever, i probably still wouldnt even if it was allowed. I just buy it when i get there and leave it in the hotel. My only annoyance with the customs officials is how they treat you going in and out of the country. That goes for the US and beyond. They cant just be respectful, they have to make it an absolute negative experience. I've never been turned around before but i know people who have, they seem to make that judgement call purely on what mood they are in.

Which is unfortunate, considering you are fucking going into that country to spend alot of money. I am not suprised people are so turned off to flying. You have the TSA groping you and the customs agents who you have to pray you get someone in a decent mood when countries rely on the tourism industry to generate revenue.

The only countries ive had no problems getting in and out with have been iceland, japan, china, slovenia, ireland and australia and holland. England, USA and Canada are all pricks 100% of the time.
