So yeah, i found a new game online called Family Guy Online. Its still in beta mode though, so you cant get considerably far. For what has been created so far though, its not half bad. If you've ever played Simpson's Hit and Run, its kinda like that, only without the cars.
You can choose to play as 4 different classes, Stewie class, Meg/Chris class, Peter class, and Lois class. There is a 5th class, the Brian class, but you have to pay to get it unlocked. Each class has its ups and downs, so its up to you which class you pick. You also start off with 2 character slots, so you can choose and try out 2 different character classes.
Its like any standard MMO, there are quests for you to do, and there are also collections for you to complete. Both quests and collections earn you rewards such as exp, coin(in which to buy things from the shop), and various items.
Right now its totally free, but im not entirely sure if its going to say that way once its out of beta. Im guessing since there are things you can buy in the shop using actual money, its going to stay free once its out of beta. In order to play though, once you sign up, you have to wait for your "Key to Quahog". What it is is basically theyre letting in a certain amount of players at a time so they dont totally break the game by having too many players in at a time. I signed up and got my key(or at least i got to play)a day later, but i looked on the forums a bit and some people didnt get theirs till like a week or a month later, so maybe i was lucky.
There is combat within the game, but its not combat oriented/combat heavy, like other MMOs such as Runescape or World of Warcraft. Combat is, so far, only seen through a few quests, its not like theres just a place where you can go to battle cpus.
Since it is in beta, there are only 2 zones you can go to for the time being, Spooner Street and Downtown. If you look on the map, you'll see many other zones, but they are all locked for now, with no way of unlocking them for the time being. The zones are fairly big though, so its not like theres just one place to go to within each zone.
So thats pretty much it. If you have ever watched Family Guy, the zones/places stay true to the cartoon, as in everything is where you would expect it to be after watching it on the show. If you have nothing else to do, i'd say give it a try. Like i said, its free, so you dont have anything to lose.

I don't know, I have a hard time believing I'd have fun with a Family Guy MMO. I can't get past the part where, personally, I just don't think it would work.

Cartoon show MMO's are just a terrible idea. I'd rather play online at something that seems to be based as an MMORPG.

Like, can you only go where the quests tell you to, or can you explore the entire town of Quahog whenever you want to?

Actually it does lag some. It lagged enough for me that i couldnt play it on my laptop, had to go and play it on my desktop.

Oh its very "sandboxy". You could literally not accept any quests at all, and still be able to explore the entirety of each area.

Just made an account to see what it's all about. It looks like a combination of the WoW mechanics and the Farmville coins/cash system. There's nothing that jumps out immediately, I'll keep playing just in case there actually is.

They get sent out randomly, but i got mine the very next day. if you havent got yours yet, it should be pretty soon. Im pretty sure noone has had to wait longer than a week
