What games out there do you love to play, even though it had some major flaws in the game? {i.e camera, graphics and the like.} There are some games out there that have a lot of bad mechanics within the game that would normally be a deal-breaker in a normal situation, but for whatever reason, you love despite having mediocre ratings from reviewers everywhere.

FOTNS: Ken's Rage comes to mind for me. On the surface, it's a Dynasty Warriors clone, following the manga of HnK, but something about beating up an army of mohawk bandits, fat ass commanders and the occasional overpowered martial arts master seem to get my attention enough for me to enjoy.

Easily Alpha Protocol.

There are few games more fundamentally flawed than Alpha Protocol, with problems ranging from a broken sensitivity slider to bad AI, but the design of the game is not afraid to take chances, and it ends up going boldly where no game has gone before.

The amount of weight your decisions have is unparalleled, there is never a "right" answer, and every action you take, no matter how insignificant, has the potential to affect the game profusely. That, and the game's just plain fun.

All three major game elements, Stealth, Combat, and Dialogue, though seriously unbalanced, are loads of fun. And I laugh my ass off every time some di'kut complains that the guns are inaccurate. STEADY YOUR SHOTS! IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO DO!

The writing is also terrific. The characters are interesting, the espionage story is compelling, the dialogue is witty, and Brayko is one of my favorite characters in all of gaming.

TL;DR, Alpha Protocol is a flawed masterpiece, and Sega is a hypocrite for not making a sequel.

Two Worlds

Sure, it has it's problems and some of them can be really quite annoying. Like a glitch where you can become wanted in one city but even after paying off the guards they're still hostile. There's also the annoying old English accent the main character has and the completely broken multiplayer. There's a few more things that people complain about with that game as well, but if you have the ability to look past them, there's a really great game to be found.

I can see why people are so hostile towards the game, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people make out. I got so hooked on that game that I even persevered through the final, really tough, boss battle. One thing that I thought was particularly good about the game was it's map. It was so varied and the creatures were pretty interesting.

If you want a fairly lengthy RPG and can look past some flaws, you can probably pick this up really cheap.

Captain America for Wii. It has no multi player and less than great graphics, but I enjoy it.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3, very simplistic fighting game based loosely on the Naruto anime. Comparing that game to other fighting it pretty much sucks, but I also enjoy beating up emo Saskue.

Kill.Switch for the PS2. The game is terribly glitchy and badly made, but it's absolutely hilarious to play. I love it.

Deus Ex - Graphics are really terrible, but the game more than makes up for it.
Devil May Cry 2 - Story and the majority of bosses and monsters suck, but it is still a good game just not as good as 3.
Zeus, Master of Olympus - The demands for getting heroes is ridiculous and annoying, but the sandbox itself is awesome.
Robot Wars Arenas of Destruction - The build system has a really irritating voice and has a game breaking infinite money glitch.

I remember playing this game a long time ago, and I didn't really enjoy it the first time I'd played this game. But after the second go-round, I kind of enjoyed playing it, now knowing what to do against all those enemies that gang up on you.

A similar game to that that I used to love is Black from EA. True, the game itself was pretty rudimentary compared to most other shooters, the last couple of levels were a bitch to deal with {particularly with checkpoints}, and no multiplayer at all, but for some reason, I go back and play this game over and over and I'm a bit surprised why Black didn't get a sequel, considering how the FPS genre exploded in popularity.

Ditto.

Besides DNF I'd have to go with the Deadliest Warrior games. Absolutely cheesy mouth animations, horrible voice acting and mediocre graphics. On the other hand the gameplay is hilarious and intense.

I've been wanting to play Dead Island for quite some time now, although I didn't really like Dead Rising 2.

It looks like a open zombie game, which pretty much sells me away to get it sometime.

I've only played New Vegas but I've found it a damn enjoyable game. Love how the choices in sidequests, unlike Skyrim, does actually have an effect on the ending. Would love to know what you consider flawed about them.

It's not a flawed game, but I find the combat of The Witcher 2 to be excruicating to play through. The fighting style is basically only setup for one on one fighting and the game constantly expects you to fight tons of enemies at once, making combat a tedious case of "Light Strike, Dodge Roll. Light Strike, Dodge Roll" until the enemy eventually falls over dead. I only stick with it because I've pretty interested in the story at this point, slapped the difficulty down and it's still really hard!

Okage shadow king had a broken battle system (just keep htting X on attack and you'll win) and dungeons were repetitive, but it's zany art style was awesome.

Thank you.

That game would have been so much better if they had added a damn horde mode though.

Naughty Bear. Everything about it is just shit, but I love fucking with the bears. Not literally though. I mean like tormenting them. You cut off all communication. Smash their phones, break their transport. Smash a window occasionally. If one of the little bastards decides to be brave and come outside, I'll beat the fucker to death and drag his body outside his house. Should he be discovered, usually the bears start killing themselves.

You know what, this is the most morbid thing I've ever written, even if it is about killing stuffed bears.

I would have to go with Nier on (360/PS3). The story, combat, and music are all excellent, but it has some big flaws. The fishing game is crap, the graphics are sub par, the item system is broken, and upgrading weapons is a waste of time, but it's a gem if you look past its flaws.

For me it's definitely the Way of the Samurai series. I can't get enough of those games and I can't wait for the fourth one to release in the US. Some might say it's a guilty pleasure... but I'm not guilty about loving them at all =P

Wet. No seriously, that's what the game is called. It was made for the PS3 and Xbox. It is easiest the most forgettable game on the next gen consoles that had nothing but low scores and was mediocre yet I love playing it. It's one of my guilty pleasures in gaming.

I bet none of you played a shittier game than that and enjoyed it. I win!

I'm just going to throw the original Tomb Raider in the ring. The controls have definitely aged horribly and if you've heavily adapted to modern controls, you'll have a challenge adjusting to tank controls. :P Still, it's got a great nostalgia factor to me so I like to play it every now and again.

Haze and the first Assassin's Creed - they (especially Haze) weren't the masterpieces that everyone hyped about, but both were great games. See, that's what ultimately made them less-than-stellar games. The hype. Dumbass nerds thinking it's going to be hot shit. Anyway, I bought them both when they came out at full price and do not regret it.

I'll see if I can think of any more later.

I, uh...

I don't really see how it's significantly flawed, but okay.

As for me, I'd have to go with Summon Night: Swordcraft Story. Very weak plot, very unsatisfying ending, poor sprites, and it gets very repetitive towards the end, but the gameplay is still very fun, and it has some great yuri dialogue (if you pick the female MC and get Sugar as your summon beast). The game's definitely not perfect, but I still love it.
