Up yours, yanks! I've seen it and it's fucking awesome. Brilliant action, everyone gets a good funny line in and the Hulk steals every scene he's in. Don't torrent it, you need to see this in a movie theater.
I'm glad everyone's liked the movie so far. I reserved my IMAX ticket online already. Just waiting on that special friday... Any day now.

I already saw it. Joss Whedon did a great job with all those already established characters together and make them work together. Avengers is an achievement in the action/adventure/superhero genre.

Of course! It has a rating of 93% on RottenTomatoes and an 8.9 on the Internet Movie Database currently! That's one of the highest ranks for a comic book/superhero movie ever! I think "The Dark Knight" is the only movie of that kind that surpasses it. Will I like this more than "The Dark Knight"? Well, if it has the characters with better voice work, then yes, I very well might. It's easily going to be the best movie I've seen all year!

While I liked the film, I think that score is a little bit exaggerated. Of course the score always goes down over time, but even if it drops to around 8.3 that's still a bit much in my opinion. I mean, it's very good for a blockbuster and you get everything you pay for, but I wouldn't say that it's really something special. And I think the plot was a little weak.

It's decent, not amazing though. It's just an entertaining super hero film, no great story, characters I don't care about, an obvious ending, just a film I would call good and nothing else.
All of the trailers and reviews have looked awesome. I have only heard good things about it. I am going to see it this weekend. Avengers assemble.

The best part is its not animated.
I want to see it, just to see if it holds up. I mean, 5 movies -- 4 different stories that just happen to be in the same continuity -- have lead to THIS ONE movie. That's a lot for a single movie to bear. Even with Joss Whedon behind it, even with all the good that I've heard about it (BECAUSE of all the good I've heard), I do worry.

Wolverine, Storm (and basically every X-Men character) and Spider-Man won't appear on The Avengers sequels and related films due to ownership: Fox and Sony own the movie licence of those characters and as such cannot appear in a film made by Marvel/Disney. I hope to see Ant-Man and Wasp on the upcoming films; Edgar Wright is still working on an Ant-Man film and he's a great director.

basically the antagonist(loki) opens the portal at the end and lets in the extraterrestrial army into earth.
the fight ends when hottie scarlet johnson finds lokis staff and uses to destroy the portal. also, the us army sends a nuke to try and destroy the portal, but tony stark sends the nuke up the portal and barely makes it back into earth.

You should really see the rest before watching this film, it would make the experience much better.
Also, there were five movies leading up to this; The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America.
