Low opacity, blurred black frame? 2012-05-01 20:29:33 Reply

I've noticed animators doing this, a barely noticable black frame around the inner borders of videos, here's an example:

I've got an idea of how to do it, but it's sloppy. I'd just make a big black box, cut out the middle, and blur it, lower its opacity and put it over my flash video, is there a better way?

1) draw a black rectangle
2) select the fill
3) open the colour menu panel
4) select radial gradient from the drop down menu
5) make both colours black
6) lower the alpha of both, lowering the alpha of the central black more
7) make any changes you feel necessary using the gradient transform tool

hope that covers it :)
