I do it too. My hands get dry to the point of my skin cracking and bleeding constantly, and it's excruciatingly painful. Not to mention the ridicule and rude comments of "What the fuck is up with your hands?" right to my face. It only happens in the cold winter months, thankfully.

The weird thing is some of the skin on my fingertips peel off every so often, so I have thinner skin on my fingertips then the rest of my hands.
