Don't Escape
I'm a werewolf and it's a full moon. I have to find a way to prevent myself from escaping.

Did you play Ragnarok Online? Do you like that game?

If you want to discuss your game in progress or team up with users who could help you with art and sound, this thread is the place to do it! You can share works in progress on dump or simply ask questions about things that are giving you a hard time - everyone can help each other.
I realize the Collaboration forum isn't the most perfect place for this but I didn't want to rush to launch a new forum dedicated to Stencyl since we rushed into some other game development forums that have been light on use. This is more like a Stencyl Lounge, at least for the duration of the Stencyl Jam!
I'll try this out. I downloaded stencyl a while ago but haven't really tried it out yet so this'll be a good learning experience. It seems a little more user friendly than TGF2.

I am good to help people with their sound. I have music on my profile.

They just released the latest version so be sure to update!
At first I'm thinking I don't wanna join, but then I thought this would be fun.
Soooo, yeah.
Hello! I'm looking for people to join my Stencyl project. I'm not sure what we're going to make yet, I just want to get a team going. PM me if you want to join. Please join. Please?

I HAVE RETURNED
Looking for an experienced stencyler. I create game art(tiles, sprites and BGs) and I know how to use stencyl, but my programming specifics and level design skills aren't very refined. See my gallery & msg me if interested. I'm also interested in combining the entry for robot day.

Just in case... It's not forbidden to use a game which was previously started, is it? I haven't seen anything about that in rules.
I mean, I started some project previously, then suspended it, but I'd like to use the concept anyway (I'll probably use rewritten and easier to use logic, but dialogues would be probably the same). Can I do so? O.o'
Mhm, I think I'll give this a shot. Gonna fail most likely :3
It's cool, I'm fucking boss.
Having just written Corebound for the LD #23 Game Jam, I think I'll see if I can make this work. :3
I've actually been planning on creating my first game recently, and I wanted it to be huge. It's based on the book "1984" except takes place 11 years after and is called "1995". I didn't really consider making this a flash game, I went straight for using some connections of mine to get the big deal softwares like Maya and I was gonna have another friend do all the concept art and help me out with the texturing since I suck at that stuff.
I have a bunch of ideas and plans for the game already, but I don't actually know what the story should be. I know I want it to be a new protagonist and that it will be multiple endings and that the basic concept behind it is that this character actually tries to incite a rebellion. It would be up to the player to determine how they want to go about that, whether by quietness and stealth or by outward force. But I don't actually know what that would include, or even if the best ending should be a "happy" one (I'm kinda leaning towards a somewhat depressing/meh ending for the best and it gets progressively worse).
So, what does that have to do with anything here? Well I figure the best way to flush out these details is to start out basic with a flash game to skip the big and epic graphics and detailed game mechanics to focus on general story and get some feedback. I also managed to convince an unrelated group I'm in to assist me and we can make it a type of publicity stunt and that the group would be in the credits. As for now, does anyone that doesn't look at this and go TL;DR mind offering some ideas? Remember, I'm trying to remain as faithful to the book as possible. I got this idea writing a massive research paper on it so I want to keep the details and major themes as consistent as I can. However there is some room for creative liberties especially since it's 11 years later.
Also, if you want to contribute more than ideas and get your hands dirty in someone else's project, then feel free to try and persuade me what you can do to help. I'll especially be looking for musicians I guess since the whole thing will be very strong on atmosphere. Artists, writers, voice actors (maybe), and actual game makers who want to partake in the contest but don't have ideas of their own are welcome to apply as well as anyone who thinks that they have something unique to bring to the table.
Thanks for any ideas/feedback and you're welcome to pm me!
I have the day off tomorrow. This might be a good chance to mix my story and my gaming.
This actually sounds fun. I can get a little bit of practice with some coding in the process if I actually decide to create a custom behavior from code. In the meantime, this will do.
So yeah, this is just perfect! i have story and chracters all lined up, and ready for battle. music and voice acting to boot. hopefully it wont be too annoying, but im really gonna need an animator. if my guy will draw the characters. then "you" animate? or both idk. i would love to try out this stencyljam2012. it's going to be epic. i really dont know how to use stencyl. but we got 3 months, or so. i will learn it, and make this game. if anyone wants to join me, hit me up. pm or email me. im aiming for first prize lol. i got a new computer, and its gonna be an awesome july!

Yes, you can enter a game that was already in-progress!
i'll enter the contest then i enter the robots day 2012 till july 10
I just realized my game is gonna be short, as in, 6-7 levels short. Maybe I can add extra content?

How do you restart?
Im assuming its okay but il ask anyways. Not that anyone would be able to tell (I think...) but would making a game fully in code & not using their code blocks thing at all be within the bounds of the contest. Essentially, Stencyl is a framework on top of Flixel, so as long as you use that framework/compile with Stencyl it is within the contest bounds?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, just dont want to start a game to find out it doesn't qualify for this reason.
hey is it alright if we use the things other people made from stencylforge? Cause I might be joining in this one.
I think it's 5 years too late.
BUT, I'm going to look into it.
