Reality Check. 2012-05-01 07:44:28 Reply

Two nights ago, my sisters boyfriend committed suicide. It was a huge reality check for all of us.. and it made me think. It made me think about all the things I take for granted.. all the things that I see go by every day that I don't stop and appreciate. This is the first time I've jumped on the BBS in a long time, but tonight I wanted to just let you all know..

Cherish every breath you take, because it's a gift. Appreciate the little things, tell people that they are worth more than they know.. Never take anything for granted. Be strong for the weak, because one day you're gonna need to be held. Never let go of love.. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

R.I.P Brock, and my heart goes out to my sister for her loss.

You'll forget about all of that and continue on with your dumb 'non-real' life in a week.

It's sad that it usually takes such a dramatic event to put life into perspective. You, your family and all affected by this tragedy have my condolences and sympathies. Someone you know taking their own life is always a tough thing to go through, but thanks for the reminder to cherish life. I'm guilty of letting life happen instead of taking the time to appreciate it as well.

Stay strong bro.

Welcome to depression. Once emotions and hormones fade away, u'll realize how silly this idea is.

True, true. I am pretty optimistic and sometimes I do stop to just look at how beautiful the world is. But maintaining this attitude 24/7 isn't that easy. I think there should always be ups and downs.

Thank you Figmentum.. even if we are guilty of letting important things slip by, and even if the feeling does fade after these experiences, what's important is that we keep things in perspective. Keep the perspective that our problems aren't the most important things in our lives.

are you afraid of slipping into the deep valleys of depression and suicidal tendencies

what if you go through a rough relationship

heartbreak

what if your future child dies

what if you are all alone in the world

your only thought is how much society neglected you

will you decide to end it all

just point the barrel at the roof of your mouth

let out a single tear

and then with your last willed action, pull the trigger

Your sister's love for her boyfriend didn't stop him from killing himself.

This is just typical bullshit you tell yourself to contrast the dark imagery around you.

You know, I've been thinking of suicide sometimes. Not about committing it, just thinking of the consequences and the shit which I would miss out on later. I think I would never commit it. But who knows what this life holds for me, hah. All I can say, I had an experience with a suicidal person, and it isn't pretty.

Joking aside, that really sucks. I couldn't imagine having to go through for that. Hoping everyone gets through it okay, especially your sister.

Why the dishonesty?

Never take anything for granted. Be strong for the weak, because one day you're gonna need to be held.

The strong persist and the weak falters. That is the world.

Never let go of love.. It always protects,

Love luls into a false sense of security.

always trusts,

You can be betrayed only by those you trust. Better to suspect.

always hopes, always perseveres.

Hope that hinder actions. Hope that leads not to perseverance but to stagnation.

Love never fails.

Not when are you dazzled by it's fake sense of elation.

Do you differ that most mentally-weak people cannot overcome their personal hardships even if they are in love and will likely conform in some way or another?

you can't be mentally-weak in this sense

the mind is a not a spectrum that ranges from weak to strong

you can simply make good or bad decisions

if your decisions are short-sighted and informed by powerful, yet transient, emotions, it will probably be a bad decision

Many people, including this "Brock", reject this advice because it doesn't apply to everyone. Some people don't appreciate living because it's more painful than eternal rest. Some of us appreciate the little things and enjoy our food or the company of others, or laughs, but are still empty deep down, the way candy is sweet but cannot satisfy true hunger. Some of us do not act for the goodwill of others because they correctly premeditate that those people are selfish and unreliable.

WHY DO WE LIVE????????? IS THE ONLY MEANINGFUL QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT WE COMMIT SUICIDE??????

death: peaceful and full of nothing
