I remember looking through that back when I first got into EDM five or six years ago (yeah I'm young). Some good info, but the guy who made it is an asshole who appears to hate all EDM since dub (a bit of an exaggeration, but you get what I mean).

Yeah... opinionated or not... that is wayyyy behind the times.
What are people interested in as far as electronic music genres go?
Since everyone seems to love dubstep so much:
Jungle/Drum and Bass in the 90's (+breaks) spawned 2-Step Garage. 2-Step Garage more or less ran into and merged withUK Grime. This spawned dubstep. Early dubstep (really until a few years ago... maybe 2008?) was very spacey... Not only in sound, but in that there was a lot of room in the sound mixes.
Around 2008 it seems, electronic music on a large scale started to move toward more complexity between the beats themselves. This moved toward what a lot of people call "Brostep" (A term I fucking hate)... or as I'd prefer to say... Dubstep that is now acceptable to play before 2AM in the morning (or under the influence of less drugs).
This kinda re-merged with drum and bass (probably because so many drum and bass producers and crews dove into the dubstep scene) and re-emerged as drumstep.
On a separate train running parallel through time... house music got around to adding a bunch of weird pitched noises that became Dutch house... which collided with the dancehall/ragga train and became Moombahton (Or more specifically,Dave Nada went to a dancehall party with nothing but Dutch house records and when you slow down Dutch to 108bpm it sounds pretty similar)
The moombahton train and dubstep trains collided after that... turning into moombahcore
And of course... there are several other genre trains going off in other directions... maybe I'll get back to those in another post. :P

Cant find edit button?
Probably best to browse down to 'Electronic' for that mega list if you're into your beats and stuff.

This is why I don't bother trying to apply genres to my music unless it's bleedingly obvious to me what it is.
There are so many sub-genres and sub-sub-genres I'd probably just end up offending someone.
