Fixing my PS3. 2012-04-26 17:13:12 Reply

Here's the issue, I got a new TV, and my PS3 uses HDMI. This TV isn't working with the HDMI cord, and will only work with AV. I've looked through the settings, and there's no way to change it to the default AV cord as far as I can see, unless I wipe out the system. Which I won't do.
HELP PLZ?

Put your PS3 on standby (Red Light), Then Hold down on the power button for 15 until you hear the second beep.
Hopefully that will help.

I've done this before and it works great.

Why do I get the feeling that you're trying to make me wipe my system?

No, it really does work. I've done it a few times when switching TVs and such.

It's been recommended other places as well, if you really want "proof."

this happened to my brother's ps3 last year sometime, the hdmi just stopped working and we couldn't fix it; to top it off, he lost the av cable too

but

we still had our old ps1 laying around and surprise surpsie, the av cable from that fitted the ps3/tv. talk about backwards compatibility. never bothered buying a new hdmi.

hey
