So over a year ago, a San Francisco 18-year-old shot and wounded a pregnant young lady outside a movie theater in self-defense. Andrew Covarrubias, the suspect, said he felt threatened because the woman was trying to pick a fight with him after he bumped into her outside the movie theater and refused to say excuse me, and then Andrew said he felt threatened and shot the woman. The woman had to deliver her baby premature as a result of the shooting.
Last summer, Andrew was sentenced to over five years in prison for the shooting.
Using this incident as an example, do you think people should use their handguns if they feel threatened in as easy as a situation as if a young woman tries to pick a fight with them but does not even fight the other party yet? Was Andrew's reason for shooting the young pregnant woman acceptable? For example, like the Trayvon case where he was shot because he was alleged to have attacked the shooter, and that's just a whole another controversial event.
