Sweet.
Also, I would like to say that I am making good on my promise and I will award $10 (via Paypal) to the first place winner.
That should offer a little (but still nice) incentive to go for gold.
Despite the name, I'm actually good--Deft, and good!
Giving out reviews to anyone who wants them (exception: poems. I'll find you).

I'm the one who's supplying the prizes. Of course I didn't just randomly assume Tom was going to pay for a random contest I decided to make.

Do you need judges? I was thinking of submitting something, but I'll refrain if you need a judge. Let me know.

We definitely need judges as competent as you! I don't really want to leave anyone out so you could always submit an entry and judge. Of course you won't be judging your own but I don't think anyone would mind. I'm personally really looking forward to what you can put forward to this contest!

Well, if you're offering store credit, why not give Tom a shout? I think he'd be happy to offer up prizes like that. I'll ask him if you want.

Yes please! It would also be pretty awesome if he could mention the contest in a newspost to get us a little bump.

Agreed. If you need help with the prize money though, or would like to have help with it, let me know!
Also, if anyone wants to beta read my submission, please let me know so I can add you as a beta tester. It's around 1,800 words. The content is questionable, but I think it's done stylistically.

I'm too busy with my novel as of late, but if I ever find a quiet hour or two that I'm not spendingprocrastinating, I'll maybe consider writing something up.

I think I can do this. I may have to wait until after exams to start writing it, but I'll definitely have time between now and May 25th to do it.

First! Lol.
I just want to say I hope everyone enjoys my submission, and that the content isn't too offensive. Anyways, I covered my concerns in my preface. What I really hope is that my submission gets the ball rolling and builds peoples' confidence. The only difference between fiction and non-fiction is that the latter actually happened. Let's not over think things. Don't get caught up in the technicalities. Just write.

You're quite a sweetheart, Coop.
and you, Tom.
I think I might take a break from my usual literotica writings and give this a go.

I am still looking for something to write about, since I don't want to "cheat" and make something up. I want to actually write about something that happened and make myself the central character/protagonist, which is something I don't usually do. But, I think I have some good ideas that I can transcribe into good stories.
Anyway, if anybody wants to exchange stories for peer-review before submitting, you can post here or send me a pm. Either way, I heavily suggest that you get your work reviewed by someone before submitting. Good luck, yo!

I was actually imagining worse things when you said that it had offensive content, but I forgot it was a true story contest :P
I read your story and I really liked it! I did feel like I was in the moment, ebbing and flowing with your feelings towards her.
I'm guessing most people will be submitting their entries close to the deadline, at least I know I am, but that's because of my exams being this month..
Anyway, looking forward to reading more stories!

So i submitted my entry! The formatting came out a little odd, i guess i should have had two new lines between each paragraph? Any how it was a lot of fun writing the piece and i'd like to give a big thank you to DeftAndEvil who gave me some excellent advice on the piece whilst it was in progress.

No big. Just be sure to mind formatting before hand. If you're ever concerned, just post it to your personal blog, then copy and paste. This way you'll get to see what it'll look like, and you'll get to correct any glitched characters.

How do you post twice in a row? Every time I try to it tells me I have to wait. Is there a way around this?

What? You can post four times in one thread in one hour.

I just noticed that. I remember last time I tried to split a story into 2 posts it wouldn't let me.
Also apparently it didn't like the quotation marks and changed them to aEou in the first part. I fixed it for the second part.

Thank fricking God finals are over for me. I will start on this tomorrow and hopefully finish Monday. I have an NBA playoff game to attend to on Saturday, so maybe I'll write about that :D

I picked a really bad date for a deadline, I've got two big finals on 24th and 25th, but I'll get something in regardless.
