Inb4 "I make 100000 a month, what are you poor?"
I'd say it's decent, are you a student?
Depending on age and kids and shit.
Young, and without kids or debt, I would say it's pretty good. Not the best, but definitely enough o live really comfortably on.

Is it sad that I thought this was gonna be about post counts?
Yeah I'd say in this day in age that's perhaps even above average.

It's pretty decent. People live off of that.
Pretty damn good. I only make about 1000 a month after taxes, and that gives me enough to live til the next one or two.
Speaking of 1000...
<----------Hit my 1,000 post, woohoo.

I'd say that's around 14 an hour, so that's probably a yes.
It's an alright amount if you're still a kid. Hell, even if you're in your early 20's to some extent.
It's not a salary you should base your life off of.

I am 23 years old, working and splitting the rent on my 3 bedroom apartment. I work full time at this logo design company, and part time at fast food WhataBurger.
Once I pay the bills I have around 1260 dollars to spend a month usually
$2,000 a month, so that's 24k per year, which is fairly good for someone in his early 20's. What is that, $12 an hour? That sounds alright, especially if it's just starting pay, given that you don't live in a city. I wouldn't plan on attempting to raise a family on that, it's fine for single living.

The average US income in 2005 was $28,567 for all workers over the age of 15 (I imagine it would be a little bit higher now, but not by a lot), so it's a little below average, but not by much.

$12 an hour equates out to around 24k a year after taxes, you have to remember, it's easier to go off of the weekly check and multiply by 51 (assuming he takes a week total for Christmas and Thanksgiving) then it is to multiply a month check by a straight 12 because of the overflow days

It is pretty good.
Emma has MANBOOBS!!!! BE AFRAID!
What matters is if you have enough money to live, that's the ultimate goal of anyone. For a 23 year old being independent and making $2k/m post tax (~$3k pre-tax?) is better than a lot of people. It's not the greatest achievement in the world but if you're a) happy b) employed c) living within your means, then you're doing great! Financial freedom is the greatest thing you can have and to have over $1k/m after bills at 23 is awesome. Just make sure you save some of it, not saving is fucking retarded. Put away $500/m and in a few years you'll have enough money for a deposit on a nice place to live, or if you lose your job you won't end up homeless!
$2.5k wouldn't even cover my rent :(

Also depends on what city you live in.
I'm in Montreal and that's about what I make after taxes. I have a lot of debt, but I'm still comfortable. Wouldn't be the case in some other big city like NYC or LA though...
2 grand is ok, i make that, but its not enough to live off of, 3-4 though is good enough to live off of
LGBT counselor, youth counselor
Might take a supervisor position with my company until i can find something better
Yup. $2,000 a month sounds pretty decent considering your current conditions.
Thanks, Chdonga, for the awesome sig.

Considering I am in high school, 200 a week to a 800 a month, I'd say you are doing good.

That's pretty cool. I'm about to start up a custom vinyl detailing company.
What do you do there?

No it's not good. It's great! You should be proud.
That's a rather funny question. That amount of money would equate to about 80,000 pesos here in Dominican Republic, which is MUCH more than what a middle class person with a family could ask for. Of course, that's because the living expenses are abysmally different: the rent in a very decent house could cost you 20,000 pesos at the most ($500), and 10,000 pesos ($250) would be enough to pay for electricity, gas, water, phone, etc. That leaves you with more than 60% percent of that salary for food and shit, which is also much cheaper.
Now gasoline prices, that's a whole other deal...
if you are student, like me i'd say that's a decent amount...but if u are a fully grown adult and depending where u live, i would say no. in NYC where i live 2 grand would prolly cover just the rent.

I make these things called All Markers, I burn, mold then bend. I lay plastic track on these sheets of pvc, I don't do the vinyl yet. (very hard to keep it straight) but I measure and finish the rest.
Then we make cardboard boxes and stack about 12 to 6 markers out of 23 or 30 per order and wrap them on pallets. They then go off to there designated state.
Very fun work :DDDDD
No. You are below minimum wage by Australian standards and our dollar is pretty much level with yours.
They let people live like this over there?

He said after tax, not before. Also the cost of living in Australia is noticeably higher than the US, someone who earns $2,000 per month after tax in Australia will not be able to live as well as someone who earns $2,000 after tax in the United States.
Apartments around here cost $500-$1000 a month. That sounds like a sweet amount of cash. I only make like $500 a month.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances
When I was living with my parents in 2003-05ish, we pulled in minimum wage. We lived off of about 8 grand a year.

Alright, fair enough. But if you ask the internet something, expect responses not based in america.
