Help needed for audio submission! 2012-04-16 10:51:00

This case is specific, I guess? It's been a recurring problem for me even before the new layout was in place.

I have a file which I want to submit. See, before the new layout went online, I attempted to submit the file once onto NG, and it was on. Then I had second thoughts and removed it. Then, some time later (maybe a few weeks later), I resubmitted the audio onto NG again, and then I had second thoughts and removed it again.

Now, whenever I want to submit that same file onto NG again, it displays an error message.

Ever since then, I've been trying to resubmit that file (and now I have no second thoughts of putting it up!), but because of that error message, I have created several project files for the same piece of music.

The audio works fine in Preview Stage, though:

But this is what happens when I hit Publish Audio:

Get rid of the other project files. You only need one. If that doesnt work, change some of the metadata. If that doesnt work, make a small edit, reexport it, then it will work.

Apparently, there isn't a delete button yet, so I can't get rid of it like that... And I have four of the same project file.

NG audio managing system is surely dang buggy.

And the worst part is, whenever I try to change the title and edit the description, NG won't let me because it detects the MP3 that was used. So apparently, this file is an exact copy of a file that no longer exists on NG.

Give the new file you are trying to upload a different file name.

Nope, doesn't work. The same error message appears.

Other mods-- have you any ideas? It'd be great to know the site's bugs can be fixed within a certain period, but I know all of us are in the dark as far as this is concerned.

Sounds like you only tried my first of 3 levels of solving this problem. Changing metadata or making a small edit and re-exporting the audio are still options.

It is checking either filename, metadata, or the wavefile as a means to say it's a copy. I don't know which one, so try changing them all.

I guess I can make a small edit and re-export the audio, but how do we change the metadata, just to be sure? I sound clueless, I guess...

right click the file, go to properties, change something like title or artist name. Likely if you don't know what metadata is then that will be blank and you can just add in your proper info.

Like I said i'm not sure what the system is scanning for to say its a copy so you may need a waveform change. that could be as simple as adding half a second of silence to the end so as not to need to change anything written

It's a seamless loop, so I need to stay away from doing that. But you know, you've given me an idea: whatever needs improvement should be improved. If there's a section that needs better humanisation, I'll have to do accordingly -- and at least the file will be changed, and it'll sound just that little bit better.

I'm not sure If I will be helpful there, but , are You sure that Your audio file is in 44000 Hz ? If yes then try to change the name of the song, like adding a simple digit to the track, and when it submits, just go to edit page, and replace track with proper title without digit.

I thought the normal sampling rate on Newgrounds was 41000 Hz, like all my previous files were?

Right, 44100Hz, but at this point, does it matter? All my past pieces have made it up on the site, except for this one, and I can't delete my old project files, and the metadata of the piece needs to be changed. I'm hating this more than ever

Not sure if it's time-to-time in my case, but I think the reason this is happening is because I have pretty much jammed up the system with two uploads (and deletions) of the same file before NG switched layouts. I don't know if there's a way around this, except changing the metadata, but hey. Changing the metadata of the piece might probably be the best option!
