I actually did read the first post. It wasn't until after I submitted it that I realized I didn't have tags. I tried editing it and it doesn't submit. No need to be a total dick about it.

I actually really like yours. When it first started I wasn't sure, but the music and art combined really made for kind of a strange, mysterious video. Normally I'm not the biggest fan of abstract art or animation, but this, while somewhat abstract, was quite enjoyable. I think you took a more original approach to the theme, too, and I liked how it branched off from a lot of the humorous submissions.

I also want to add that I liked how unclear it was what exactly was going on. I think all too often animators feel the need to spell everything out for everyone, instead of letting them quite literally just interpret things how they do. It's neat because everyone who watches it has a different experience.

I actually did the exact same thing when I submitted mine. I had read the first page many times, yet still managed to forget to tag it at first. Although, you should totally be able to edit the tags afterwards, because I know I did. Just give it another try, I suppose.

Also, really neat animation. I love the atmosphere you've created with the music and the visuals.

Also, thanks Pahgawk. Yeah I don't understand it either. Haha. I checked the front page almost everyday, and still managed to forget. Ah well, it seems to have gone through finally. Also, thank you for the kind words! Best of luck to everyone who enters.

Man, you guys are inspiring me to want to make some animations just for the fun of it again. Ive been so busy animating for work that I haven't sat down and animated for myself in a while. I look back fondly at the two years I did TOFA (when it was called TOFA (backinmydaygrumbleoldman.jpg) and just look at how much I've grown over the span of 9 animations, and how now I look back at The Shape of Love and realize how I could top that these days. Its cool, its almost like an autobiography of your progress as an artist. If it also helps, I MISS the days when I would get home from my internship, or when I was unemployed all last year I would just wake up and animate until I couldnt anymore. That's the real prize from winning this thing, to see progress in your craft. So grow, learn, have fun, and work! If the sky were the limit, we wouldn't have put people on the moon by now!

I read this topic on a regular basis every day, to be sure that no entries are being left out in case someone forgets to tag and then doesn't check back and realize their error. Still, be sure to edit that tag in when it passes judgement and we'll be all good to go :)
