After you've made a new movie project on Newgrounds, when you go to the API tools tab, download the set of API tools applicable to you (AS3, for example.) Then, once you've installed that, when you restart Flash, you'll find the Newgrounds API tools in the components panel, which includes the API connector (which you need to put in your file so that the ad can identify which video it's on) and the Flash Ad Box itself. Let me know if you need more specific instructions :)

Okey...

...So created a new movie project on Newgrounds, and i got the API ID and the Encryption Key, after that i have no idea what to do. :(

I've gotten the ad to work, but now i can't get the movie to play correctly. :O

Really? I haven't heard of that issue before before, I doesn't happen when I play the movie. Are you sure that it is properly loaded and all? I guess I'll just have to wait and see if more people have this problem and then look further into it...

When you say it doesn't play correctly, what does that mean? Does it load but not start playing?

...also, nice entry, Hikarian! I like how smooth all the animation is.

The issue is that it plays directly, without me pressing the play button.

Wow! Three entries already!

And you guys still have 2 weeks left! Good job everyone! Now I just want to say one thing to anyone who hasn't turned in something yet (and this could go for future reference to anyone who has) "Its not a race" so don't feel like you'll be deducted points for every day you don't turn it in, and try not to feel rushed to get something completed. If anything, what I would do last year is literally wait until the last day, even if I had it done prior, just to add to the tension and to also give myself time to edit if I saw something I thought I could improve upon. Its the notion of "not laying all your cards on the table", its like you kind of want to wait to see what everyone else turns in so that you can see if you can best them in some way.

That being said, the three that were turned in already are great! Laughed my butt off to the three friends discovering things, the brother and sister quarrel was adorable and very fun (and holy heck dude! Its LONG! How'd you get something so long done so quickly!?), and the astronaut one was a nice trip (loved the main character design in that one, reminds me of something my twin brother would like.)

NATA is already off to a great start! Keep em coming!

I've decided to share some progress i've got... I still need to make backgrounds (god i hate those) and many other things.

Geez, I'm burning up! I probably wont make it to the 32 of the open round with this, but it's already been great! I so want to improve right now - so much to learn, so much time :D

11 Days, 6 Hours remaining!

I've been visiting Newgrounds for probably over 10 years now, and I have yet to submit an animation. I managed to get a copy of Flash this year, as well as finish my first year of an Animation program in college. I'm working on something right now, and my first submission is going to be for this competition.

Anyone know why my sound doesn't sinc up correctly when I render it?

Another thing to try if you have it set to Stream is to make sure you've set the audio stream quality to something higher than the default 16kbps. More help about the issue: http://www.keyframer.com/2009/01/28/flash-sound-sync-problem /
