Let's make NG Walls!

Hey NG, I'm opening this as the Official Thread for my NG Wallpaper Script!

If you aren't aware, I'm quite active in the GreaseMonkey community of Newgrounds, but I wanted to share my new script with all of you guys. You can read about it and download it here.

The basic idea of the script is that it lets you save custom wallpapers for Newgrounds' pages. You can see the custom wallpaper that I've made here.

The reason for this thread is to see what our community can come up with for wallpapers. So here's a couple links to get you all started.

Don't doubt, my first custom wall looks really nice and it's roughly 120KB and high quality. All depends on how you export.

What for? GreaseMonkey is client side and does not modify the site's backend operation in any way, so basically the script only exists on each user's computer when they download it. I can see why you'd be a bit skeptical, but there's nothing illicit going on here.

im not saying that there is anything bad going on at all.. im saying that the site wants people like you who are willing to do work like this... as a programmer you could help the site be better and give a helping hand to its furthering story

Aha, I'm sorry. You're really one of the few who sees it like that, most people don't comprehend GreaseMonkey completely and they think if something looks different, that it's in some way damaged the original. I've actually spoken to Tom in the past about some of my scripts because I'm happy to give them as suggestions, though I prefer to let the userbase speak for me. A large number of old GM scripts pre-redesign are now Official NG features, and as one of the people who put some of those scripts out there, I'm just proud to see the idea recognized.

It looks great, but a tip that I learned while making scripts, NG uses two layers of backgrounds, so it looks really seamless if you actually blend it to the other background in photoshop, your current Mario background clashes with the fiber pattern on the red pages, but it's still a great job.

My resolution isn't large enough to get the full width of the patterns. Could you provide screenshots of each background's patterns for me? I tried zooming out to get them but I couldn't stretch them out correctly in Photoshop.

Background Palette. Open in Photoshop/Editor-of-Choice and copy the part you want. Saved at 100% Size and Quality for authenticity.

Currently a work in progress; it'll update itself as I upload a newer version to the dump. It's 4:30 and I can't find many blue game characters. Will do a decent movies portal wall later on.

I put it in General specifically because the script, and therefore the wallpapers are open to everyone, so I reasoned that it would probably get its best exposure here.

I made an update to the script guys, it now supports custom "Backdrop" images, so you can completely redesign the wallpaper. Read more about it here.

This is interesting. Hmmm... I think I'll try to make (maybe) a wall art that's similar or a highly decent, edited version of the 2007 metal background. I miss it. Or if someone with better image manipulation skills could do it, I'll give you all the love my heart can withdraw.
