Sin City 2 : Finally Greenlit. 2012-04-13 15:29:15 Reply

I previously wrote topics on how studios had just greenlit sequels to both Anchorman and Dumb and Dumber. But this one, this is the one I was really looking forward to. And the day has finally come.

"SIn City : A Dame to Kill For" has finally been greenlit!

Here's an excerpt from the press release.

âEUoeThe first question I am always asked is âEUoeWhen will you make another Sin City? ,âEU said Rodriquez. âEUoeI have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original, but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations. A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait.âEU

"Sin City creator, screenwriter and co-director Frank Miller said, âEUoeThe first Sin City knocked out audiences who had never seen anything like it before. Robert Rodriguez and I are going to shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first.âEUoe

"The script and details of the filmâEUTMs story have been kept tightly under wraps. Casting will begin next week, with many of the original cast expected to return. The film, a Quick Draw Production, will be produced by Rodriguez and producing partners Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic; and by Alexander Rodnyansky and Sergei Bespalov and Stephen LâEUTMHereux. Miller, The Weinstein CompanyâEUTMs Harvey and Bob Weinstein and MiramaxâEUTMs Adam Fields will act as executive producers. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was developed by Frank Miller based upon his graphic novel, with a screenplay by Frank Miller and Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed). The film is expected to begin production this summer at RodriguezâEUTMs Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas."

"Audiences have been clamoring for Sin City 2 with Robert and Frank for a long time and trust me, it will be worth the wait,âEU said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company. âEUoeThis will be my 11th collaboration with Robert in 16 years and heâEUTMs become a great friend. I look forward to continuing our long lasting relationship and partnering on more projects in the future.âEU

After 7 long years, this is FINALLY happening! FUCK. YEAH.

Frank Miller fucked up The Spirit, so it's kinda debatable...

But this is HIS baby, and judging from the first one, it's gonna be alright!

i hope tarantino has no involvement this time

otherwise, i'm pretty happy

the first film was great and the comics are fantastic

if it recreates the rest of the comic in the same way as the first one, there is nothing to worry about

I can even hear that movies name without thinking of this... except, in motion.

To this day, I have no idea what that movie was about. I jsut know it had this in it.

I am also excited about this. I have all of the comics and just adore the story. But "A Dame to Kill For" is one of my favs.

Let's all go see it together when it comes out!

Anyone knows if her character is supposed to come back in A Dame to Kill For?

If yes, sweet mother of God... :D

This is one I'll definitely check out as soon as it's released. I remember really liking the first one, although it's been a long time since I last saw it.

I feel like I should also read the graphic novels someday.

If it was, the movie would've been shot right after the first one...

Neither the comic nor the first movie are any good.
