Boosting pregain in audacity

This must be a stupid question to ask but how do i export a song in audacity at a louder volume? Or is it not possible?

You can also play with the gain, if you want a less permanent increase in volume.

For me that's just the PC's global volume control - doesn't change the volume of the song on export. Idk if that's true for windows
Also OP: you do just mean gain right? Pregain means something different in amplifiers and compressors and stuff.
