Eating coffee beans? Apr. 12th, 2012 @ 06:39 PM Reply

Lately, I've been eating these chocolate-covered coffee beans I got from a friend.

They're tasty and all, but

Are there really any health benefits/problems that come from eating coffee beans?

I've heard different things on this. Some say it's a great source of protein and energy, others say it's more potent and thus more addictive than coffee. I keep eating these, not knowing anything other than that they taste good....

What do you have to say, Newgrounds?

Wouldnt they be bad for you like coffee? I ate my dads chocolate covered coffee beans and they were awesome but I hate coffee.

I highly doubt eating coffee beans is any different than drinking coffee. Other than high caffeine levels, you should be fine.

I've heard that due to the 'rawness' of it, it can lead to worse addictive levels than normal coffee, as it has more caffeine. I've also heard that the energy 'crash' can be worse as well, causing (in very very severe cases) heart problems.

Mostly it can cause tachycardia, but no more so than downing an entire
energy drink, like an amp or something.

I used to love them, but I don't think they're that bad for you. They're not raw or anything. You do get a worse crash from them than normal coffee though.
I found a spider at the bottom of mine once, and that sort of put me off them.
