Am I the only one hoping the North Korea gets bold enough to attack somebody just so we can annihilate that pitiful little nation. Hell, the hand outs allied troops will give to citizens as they roll through their towns will be more food those citizens will have ever seen under the Kim Jongs.

Also, North Korea has been trying to get a rocket into low-orbit since 1998. That's 14 years. America put a man on the moon in 10 years. Germany had low-orbit rockets since 1944.

I think we need to go to war against North Korea ASAP, regardless of the consequences. I say this on humanitarian grounds.
Entire families are imprisoned if a single person commits a crime against the regime. Infants born to prisoners or born disabled are exterminated at birth...if they're lucky enough not to be in a Total Control Zone. Those born in a TCZ are raised as slaves and exist only to be tortured throughout their entire lives.
While nations like Iran have a weak but existing opposition force in their countries, North Korea has NONE. They have made gathering of crowds illegal and atomized the population. Even if China stopped supporting the regime, the Kim Dynasty would maintain total control, even at the potential expense of two thirds of the population through starvation. It's 1984 meets Nazi Germany, so the North cannot be defeated from within.
As long as we allow North Korea to live, these atrocities will go on infinitely. And as such, we don't truly have the right to combat human rights violations. If Syria's al-Assad wants to slaughter his own people, we have no right to stop him.

I don't know if this is the rocket launch the article was talking about, but apparently a rocket that was just fired by North Korea completely broke apart

lol i love how you consider engagement in warfare a humanitarian action under the right circumstances
what the fuck is wrong with you

let the north koreans sort it out instead of going to war with them
or better yet sow some seeds of rebellion. the CIA does that all of the time with mixed results. let's not result to warfare under false pretenses here

...yeah poverty tends to breed revolution so it's only a matter of time. north korea is a time bomb

obviously not true, but hey don't let the facts stop you.

neoconservatives such as Th-e tend to come up with payment plans after the fact. their #1 priority is to "spread democracy and freedom"
no really these people are fucking crazy. the iraq war is one reason not to try to use war as a tool of humanitarianism and not to elect neocon fuckers

I think we've passed the "borrow" part of the last plan and we need to go to the "payment" part.

HEY! I am not crazy. I am saying that North Korea must be toppled because they are brutally torturing and killing people in a manner similar to Hitler's concentration camps. I am also saying that America is hypocritical for calling out Syria on human rights violations while letting N. Korea perform said atrocities.
Remember the "Never Again" saying after the Holocaust? We have failed at that too many times...Rwanda, Cambodia, Bosnia, Sudan...maybe we should just admit that genocide is a tolerable act...
As for a "priority to spread democracy and freedom," I am not necessarily like that either.
I look at stuff like the WTC replacement in Lower Manhattan...giant pits preserving Al Qaeda's deeds, the cowardly, bunker based "Freedom Tower," the inferior towers replacing the Twin Towers...and I wonder if America deserves democracy anymore. Not to mention America's growing cowardice.
We should go after North Korea, but Iran can be left alone. Iran isn't that sickening.

this coming from the guy who thinks war(at least in modern society, anyway) against north korea can be engaged in for humanitarian reasons when there's nothing humanitarian about it
I am saying that North Korea must be toppled because they are brutally torturing and killing people in a manner similar to Hitler's concentration camps. I am also saying that America is hypocritical for calling out Syria on human rights violations while letting N. Korea perform said atrocities.
actually i'm pretty sure america has called out north korea on it before so that destroys your argument homey
Remember the "Never Again" saying after the Holocaust? We have failed at that too many times...Rwanda, Cambodia, Bosnia, Sudan...maybe we should just admit that genocide is a tolerable act...
i would rather give people the tools to rise up against their oppressors than going in there and fucking everything up
and besides it's not as if america has this responsibility to stop genocides all over the world by itself. why don't some other nations do something for fucking once?
As for a "priority to spread democracy and freedom," I am not necessarily like that either.
yeah well it sure seems that way bro
I look at stuff like the WTC replacement in Lower Manhattan...giant pits preserving Al Qaeda's deeds, the cowardly, bunker based "Freedom Tower," the inferior towers replacing the Twin Towers...and I wonder if America deserves democracy anymore. Not to mention America's growing cowardice.
i love how you equate refusal to act in certain international matters to cowardice when you know damn well that america is the antithesis of such a trait. even america's harshest critics would never consider america a cowardly nation, but whatever
but hey, only a neoconservative would use such words to encourage america to go off on another failed military adventure to satisfy his politically/morally masturbatory fantasies
We should go after North Korea, but Iran can be left alone. Iran isn't that sickening.
it's funny how when a lone superpower comes to exist, certain people(like you!) want it to go all over the world being the policemen that you think it should be
i got news for you: it ain't working and it ain't moral

yeah when i was referring to "lone superpower" i could've only been referring to the u.s. since europe isn't a superpower, genius.
and besides, the countries making up europe don't pull as much of their weight as america does. i'm tired of seeing america most of the grunt work

War isn't humanitarian, but the goal is to eliminate the oppressors and allow a system to develop that is humanitarian. Yes, we can certainly fail at the humanitarian system. But the way the common North Korean is treated, war seems to be the lesser of two evils, a better option than allowing the brutal torture and killing of innocent people.
America simply calling out on the regime to stop its atrocities is basically doing nothing, and telling the Kims to "have the courage to pursue peace" is just a line from a self-help booklet.
My definition of American cowardice is not about acting in international matters, but more about American's own actions. I did not write my statement very well. I meant cowardice of our own leaders, and people getting paranoid over stuff like the NDAA, SOPA, HR 347, strip searches, etc.
Go ahead. Call me a neoconservative douchebag all you want. Tell me I am a madman bent on ruling the world. Tell me I fap to war and stuff.
I am just saying that North Korea is a form of Hell on Earth, and the innocent people don't deserve what they suffer through. I know about the costs of war. I cannot solve everything...it just feels like no one is there to do so.
Are you saying that we should let North Korea continue to be North Korea? Are you saying we should let these people continue to suffer at the hands of a regime that thrives on absolute control and refuses to listen to the rest of the world? Does the cost to the rest of the world justify letting Kim's cronies continue to treat its people like wild animals?
What should we do?
Feel no mercy for me. It will only cause you to suffer as well.
