3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsCould I get some feedback on this soon-to-be submission?
It weighs in at 4.2 megs. Looking at it should take about 8-10 minutes once you just hit the Play button and an additional 10-20 minutes if you read the extra stuff in the preloader.
The information I'm looking for is:
Suitability for Newgrounds in its current format
Smoothness of text
Major bugs that completely break the flash
Critique of voice acting
Critique of script
and a 1-5 vote that you would give it should it be submitted as it is right now.
I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

the intro was a bit drawn out but other than that i like it. go for it and submit it, the worst that can happen is that people say they dont like it. [nothing to loose and everything to gain]

I'm going to assume that you didn't embed your fonts because the text displaying for me is not uncovered evenly and way behind the narration. It also doesn't fit on the page.
Break your fonts to fills (ctrl+B twice) so you don't have to worry about other computers not having the fonts you use.
Also, is this whole thing just an audio book? I don't think submitting a written work to a Portal that's designed for visual mediums is the best idea. If you want to go ahead, just doesn't seemâEU¦ fitting?
"wonderous" is properly spelled "wondrous".

Here's the situation:
The text uncovering is controlled by a script that runs continuously. It's still buggy when you're running other applications in the background, but as long as you don't have anything else CPU intensive running (aside from Flash, that is), the text seems to uncover fine. There's a few other things I could do to remedy problems, but that all takes bug-squashing and bug-squashing equals time. I just needed to see how many other people would have the same problems and if it's worth the time to squash them now or wait until I redo the system as an object-oriented one.
As for the novel approach (pun not directly intended), I have no skills in art at all, but I wanted to submit something myself, then ask for help with sketches for interested parties. That said, if this can survive judgement by itself, it may just be better to submit it and ask for help in the credits, just as a way to get better visibility. Hence, this post's existence. This is just a springboard to get to that necessary Step 2.
No, I meant that the TEXT itself wasn't showing up correctly on my computer and was enlarged to the point where the words were pushed off the page. The masking script/animation was synced to the audio no problem. I'm assuming this is because you're using a custom font that's not installed on my computer and it's being changed to the default sans-serif font.
If you want to contribute writing, why not check out the Writing forum? Or at least put an option to read faster than the voice over does.
