These generally suck, 3 reasons why-
1: They go on too long, every story has to end.
2: The main characters are overpowered

ITT: Popular anime

Beyblade: Metal Fusion/Metal Masters is a worse anime than OP's list.

-The voice actors pause in the middle of sentences. A lot.
-The main character, Jenga Hogamay, is more overpowered than Goku. Metal Fusion just consists of him anally penetrating all who oppose him with his Pegasus Star Blast Attack. The only thing that makes this show better than Dragonball Z is that they were smart enough to not focus entirely on him in Metal Masters.
-Jenga's friends are all the same person with a different design. Seriously, they all have the same goal; to beat Jenga and nothing more.

I tried code geass couldn't get into it after the first episode.

I know im going to sound juvenile when i say this but how come all the "good anime" is centered around cyber tech and fantasy crap wheres the kung-fu and interesting characters?

Meh I have seen and even own copies of better anime then those two. Ranma one half and golion are 2 animes that I find better then the two that you mentioned.

Sonic X is the worst anime I've seen.
Every episode just pissed me off when I was young.
So naturally I don't watch it.
And the later season of Yu Gi Oh.
Yuck.
Naruto also is not my cup of tea either.
Most animes I don't like, I'm very selective about the anime I watch.

That should explain why it does get shown as an anime to often. It's really good (the manga), but horrible on the anime. Its pretty popular among the martial arts genre in the community, albiet it being so ecchi later on.

I get that the big 3 shonen anime out there, One Piece, Bleach and Naruto are at the very least, heavily flawed and plenty of justifiable reasons why they are bad, but one anime that is possibly worse than those would have to be FLCL.

I know that I'll get a lot of heat for this, but FLCL has got to be one of the worst animes I've have ever seen. Not only did it have any plot with it whatsoever, but I thought that a lot of the jokes in it are stupid and the characters are as 1-dimensional and pedantic as they can get. Why this show is so popular with anime fans really does baffle me.

Single season stuff is just better, like Claymore and if you want Elfenlied, but as soon as the anime gets a second season, it becomes unnecessary shit (Code Geass has 50 episodes or so and the second half just sux).

I tend to watch anime after having it recommended to me from a reputable source. That doesn't mean I've never watched a bad anime (in fact, some I've never finished because I couldn't bring myself to watch the end). I tend to avoid incredibly long anime, though, for two reasons:

1. The plot usually doesn't need to be that long, and thus in most cases, the show is slow to progress.
2. The creators usually just make up the plot on the spot in order to keep the show running. Have you ever tried to do that? The results are, 9 times out of 10, utterly awful.

I believe the longest show I've seen contained 54 episodes, and is currently one of my favourite shows. This is because they knew the direction the show was heading when they made it, and everything was carefully planned out in advance.

However, just because something is longer does not mean it's better. A case in point is FLCL. 6 episodes of utter awesome. Sure, it didn't make a lot of sense in a literal way (if you look closer, the entire series is metaphor after metaphor for various things), but it didn't need to in order to be good. Because it was fitted into 6 episodes, though, it allowed for it to be fast and gripping, with new things happening all the time, and absolutely no filler material. A lot of shows don't accomplish this.

Dragon ball ill give you that, but half of Z is literally filler, 1/4 being long as hell charge up episodes, and the other foruth is actual worthwhile canon.

Does anyone remember this one anime that was called "Fighting Foodons"? It was the dumbest thing imaginable, with people who turned food into pokemon like creatures or something. Honestly, did anyone think that would be a good idea? There's like a character whose head is a fried fan and the rest of his body is a human or something. I knew that was so stupid I couldn't bother watching any of it. Don't say I misjudged it, I dare anyone to defend this.

When it comes to cooking anime, I prefer "Cooking Master Boy".

It's fun and ridiculous at the same time, especially when the judges sampled the food and starts orgasing.

Take a time to read the manga, SD Kenichi is one of the best martial arts i read for the past years, and i am a big martial art manga fan
