So I finally got around to beating D3 on normal with malachi117. Not bad, considering how he got it a few days late, and we've been playing around his work schedule. We then proceeded to play two new characters on hardcore for lulz, just to see how long we'd live if we rushed it. He died before the skeleton king, and I died shortly after. It was good for a bit of fun, though.

WE SAVED DIALBO!

But yes, it was a very enjoyable experience. After work today we shall be delving into Nightmare.

With players beating inferno difficulty 4 days after release, they better get the pvp out soon. Replaying the campaign and dying a few hundred times to elite monsters is getting boring.

Oh look. The game got carpet-bombed.

How come every triple-A title lately has been getting carpet bombed?

Alright men, I've just bought the game, got a level 10 wizard for playing alone/with NG, and a level 6 Demon Hunter for friends games.

Bring this shit on, Diablo, I'll rip your head off and shit down your neck. On multiple difficulties.

Probably because they tend to pull bullshit and disappoint those paying $60 for it.

People are complaining about the lag, I'm complaining about the game being boring and very VERY VERY VERY
repetitive, really fast.

D2 wasn't that repetitive, because you didn't have to do all the quests all over again everytime you joined a new game...

. . .

You could just farm whatever the hell you wanted. WP were actually useful and hard to find. Items weren't 100% random.

I've been enjoying Diablo 2 more than Diablo 3 (guest pass), i only want Diablo 3 anymore for the story...It feels so simple, Diablo 2 is much more unforgiving. I like that.

I had the exact same problem. Here's how to fix it.

Open up the launcher, and click play. Press escape when you see the warning I'm sure you've already seen. It will try to play the game. If it still fails, do the following:
1. Go to libraries/documents/Diablo III, and open up D3Prefs.
2. Look for DisableTrilinearFiltering "0", and change it to "1".
3. Look for HardwareClass "0", and change it to "1".

Then, try launching the game again (making sure to press escape at the warning), and voila, it works. At least, it worked for me. Try it out.

My guess is that the Intel 4 chipset does not support trilinear filtering, so if you try disabling it, the rest of the game should be supported. Best of luck to you.

Damn, I tried this and it went to a black screen, with the diablo 3 cursor and the background music. I thought it was loading but I was just gettin teased :( so close. Is there anything eles I can do with those settings that might give me a bit of a better chance?

I'm building my own gaming PC to get this game. It had better be worth it.

I would hope that you would be planning this PC for other games too, otherwise it probably won't. It's definitely a fun game, but it would take a special case to be worth building a pc for alone.

Well, I didn't care about building a gaming PC until Diablo III. But yeah, I have other games.

Still stuck on act 2 after spending all of my gold on the AH. Melee classes are utterly boned for inferno mode.

But on the bright side, I've finally found it.

Finally hit Nightmare with my main character, was in Saskatoon all of May long so I couldn't play at all.. My brother's already on Inferno and has a lvl 60 Monk, we are rolling Wizards right now together as well. But I'm going to try out Nightmare for a bit after I upgrade some gear.

I didn't like the Auction House idea at first, but it definitely helps.

They better be patching shit soon. All the melee classes have been pure impossible to play in Inferno mode and DH and Wizard are the only classes that have a decent level of success. Blasphemy, but they made need to tone Inferno down a bit or give melee classes even more damage mitigation.

Doesn't work. Barbarians in Inferno have timed themselves while doubling their already high vitality and it only increased their time living against attackers by a second at the most.

Does anyone want to do me a big solid and shoot me a PM with a guest pass, since my graphics card is borderline minimum requirements and I know that on the lowest settings the "minimum" isn't the true minimum.

"Metacritic"

Yeah, no surprises there. It should be considered by now that Metacritic user ratings can't be taken seriously.

Unfortunately, after some further playing with Diablo III on Sunday, it turns out that my laptop can't really play it that well due to overheating bullshit it has. Ah well, only more reasons why I need to get something better for myself.

I finished Act 1, which is what you get with a guest pass. Now I have to buy it... I'll have to wait a couple weeks though. Gonna play through Act 1 as each class while I wait.

loved diablo, loved diablo 2 even better, lord of destruction made the online play a bit more fun and bearable but god i hope in diablo 3 that they don't have the chars expire after a month of inactivity. that used to annoy the hell outta me as i had to work occcasionally and sometimes might not get to it for a couple of months at a go.

as for what char i'm looking forward to playing, guess i'd have to say the witchdoctor looks the closest to what the necromancer. (i'm so gonna miss that bony lazy dude) that aside they have taken way too long in releasing it but its been well worth the wait, i had a go on the beta as the barb and all i can say is OMG, OMG, OMG!!!

overall not the best of hack and slash games out there anymore but definitely one of the better thought out ones. great story line that just pulls you back in so many different ways. Bring it on diablo, the hoards of the horadrim still stamd mighty. (just about!!)
