On March 25th, 2012, the world lost one of the most influential animators of the internet age. I watched my first Eddsworld cartoon back in 2007, and from then on I wanted to be an animator, just like Edd Gould. He was inspirational, a fantastic example of a true artist, but unfortunately, as the saying goes, the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

I know many people feel the same way I do; depressed and a bit lost. Edd was a large part of many of our lives, and from what I've heard, he was the heart and soul of those who were closest to him.

Edd will be remembered fondly by anyone who has ever loved his work, and I'm sure in my assumption that there are people who want to show the amount of their admiration for him.

This is a collaboration about Edd Gould and his creative little universe of Eddsworld.

The mission is simple: Create a bit of art, whether it be an animated short, a drawing, a song, or written work such as a short story or a poem in dedication to Edd Gould. Everything submitted within the timeframe I set forth that follows a few simple guidelines will be included.

We'll have the animation reel, the art gallery, the playlist of songs, and a section of written work all within one flash submission.

> I've been a huge fan of Edd's work ever since I began watching it.

For Animations:
> 550(width)x400(height)
> 24 Frames Per Second
> Background: Default (white)
> Maximum Length: 5 minutes
> Minimum Length: 15 seconds
> I am using Flash CS5

For Still Art (drawings, paintings, sketches, etc.):
> JPEGs and PNGs are acceptable. Basically any decent quality file format that is used for Still Images
> For non-computer generated art, photos and scans of your work are alright, just try your best to bet the best quality.
> Screenshots of Edd's own work will not be accepted.
> Must be created by YOU.
> Collaborated efforts must include YOURSELF as a main contributor.

For Music:
> Max Length: 5 min
> Min Length: 30 seconds
> Must be deliberately about Edd or Eddsworld
> No covers of other songs, as most songs aren't deliberately about Edd or Eddsworld

For Written Work:
> Accepted formats
+ Essays
+ Poems (any type: limericks, haikus, etc.)
+ Short Stories (not looking for a book. Small story with beginning middle and end.)
+ Paragraphs (a short written paragraph about Edd or Eddsworld)
> No Plagiarism

For ALL Works:
> Nothing offensive. This is a dedication to a deceased person. Keep the feelings of those who were close to him in mind.
> No plugs. This is not someplace to promote yourself, your work, or other people.
> No plagiarism.
> Must be about Edd and/or Eddsworld.
> Try hard. If you lack talent, that's okay, but for Edd, give it your best shot.
> You can make multiple submissions.
> Watermarking your work is okay, as long as it isn't too flashy or distracting. No links.

End date for Submissions:
All works MUST be submitted by July 31st, 2012 || 11:59 PM, Central Time (Chicago time).
This is plenty of time to make something nice and polished.

The GRACE PERIOD for submissions AFTER July 31st, 2012 will last until August 10th.
During the grace period, anything submitted can and will be judged by me as to whether it is of high enough quality to be submitted. If I feel that anything submitted during the grace period is not good enough, it will not be included.

Q: Didn't CrazyRock already start an Eddsworld Collab?
A: Yes, he did, but I don't feel that he did a good enough job of setting his up nor do I believe that he will be able to helm it. Nothing personal against CrazyRock, but this is a topic that requires more thought and consideration.

Q: Didn't you drop the Animator Tribute Collab for personal reasons? How can we trust you?
A: Yes, I did drop that collab. I thought it was a great idea, but with school and work piling up, I realized that it wasn't an idea that I was committed to. Edd's passing has had a traumatic effect on many people's lives, as well as mine. This is something I'm committed to all the way. I owe it to Edd for inspiring me to be an animator in the first place.

Q: I have something I want to submit, but it doesn't fit into your guidelines of formats I can submit (it's a video of an interpretive dance I created in memory of Edd).
A: Email me at [e-mail] with your odd query. I'll see if I can let it pass.

Q: Will I get paid for this?
A: No, this is for non-profit. I will not include advertisements in the submission. It wouldn't feel right to profit from this.

Q: When will this be submitted to Newgrounds?
A: I plan on having it submitted on October 28th, 2012, which is what I believe to be Edd's birthday.

Q: Will the animations be released on youtube?
A: Not sure. If it does, I will try to contact Edd's friends and get it posted under the Eddsworld account.

Q: Do you want some help with programming and setting up the submission?
A: I would appreciate all the help I can get. This is a collaboration after all.

Since the last post was over 6 months ago, I'd say more than likely.
Also, if I recall, there was a fair few of these tribute projects running at the time, so some fell by the wayside.
