Fair enough, it's a style I'm going for. Sharp out line and more blurred colour to give the pieces like a tattoo feel. I guess like everything it's down to personal taste.
8th Piece
I know I'd said that I was going to finish this tomorrow but I got bored and decided to solider through with it. Anyway as per usual theres a link below to it in the portal and a pic if you can't be bother to press it. Enjoy.
Yet another piece that I've made using Sumo Paint, really think that it's one of the better softwares I've used. Anyway, kind...
WIP
Thinking of making another poster sized piece for either Hawaii or a Hawaii style restaurant/festival. It's a very loose idea at the moment but I thought it would be best to have a character covering a large portion of the piece, I went for a Tiki Mask. Any ideas at this point would be helpful.
9th Piece
Gave up on the idea of a poster but carried on with the character. This is the end result. As per usual there is a link to the portal version but for all you lazy art regulars there is also a pic. Enjoy and some feedback would be nice.
Well, I was going to make a poster advertising Hawaii but I changed my mind and instead this is what I ended up with. Enjoy.

Looks pretty spiffy. I like your choice of colours. He looks real crazy. One think I think you need to do though is get away from using that soft brush/airbrush tool. It make it look kind of blurry. Also, I think the fire might look better without that thick line in the middle of it. Fire is sort of wispy and flickery and the thick line takes away that. Even if the line were very thin, I think it would help a lot.

Yeah, I've been getting that a lot. I don't know I think it make my work look kinda tattoo like and cool but I'm clearly in the minority. I might have to move back to using more block colours like I used to last year.

I see your point, next time I make something that involves flames I'll take what you said on board. Thanks for the feedback.

If you feel really strongly about it, I'm sure you can make it work. Just because most people don't like that tool doesn't mean it isn't good for you.
What you could try is making your lines a little thinner and using a smaller brush size when you colour to get a little more detail in there, but still have a softer feel. Also pick colours that are really contrasty. Pick a less saturated colour for the shadows.
As it gets closer to Halloween here's something I'm working on to celebrate the day.

Awesome! Is this on an actual wall or composed in Photoshop?

The wall is real. It's just one that I found on google for this purpose.
Corrected the spelling mistake that if I'm honest had to be pointed out to me. Also made it darker and more cold in appearance. Not too sure what to do, upload it when it's done or wait for Halloween.

That actually looks pretty damn good, why not add more like pumkins or such?

Yeah I know what you mean there will be some other things added yet before I call it done :).
Added some skull balloons and a pumpkin.
A few more little changes. Just killing time really until halloween as I've decided to wait until then to upload this. Give me some feedback please and if you can think of anything that needs changes please tell me.

Well, I've given up the idea of that graffiti halloween art piece so I'm creating a new one. Not quite sure how it is going to go completely just yet but I've made this for a start. Still got over a week yet so it should be good.
I miss the old pixel poster collab it was something that I really thought could be a great achievement in NG art history, sadly it wasn't to be and I've found some of my old pieces so that I can post them here getting nostalgic looking at them.
(left to right: Grim reaper, plant from Super Mario, Bastard Man, Corey Taylor, Burnt Face Man)
Something a little different but I think it was an interesting idea.
I thought it'd be cool to compile all of the decent sigs that I have made for various users, so here you go. The sigs were m...

wow that looks sick, you should get into doing some real street art!

I've been wanting to get back doing some graffiti pieces for a while now, it's been so long though and I'd need to start practising to get back into the swing of things. I know it's not going to go away until I get at least one good one up here especially seeing as I've deleted all my older crappy attempts. Best get looking at some existing ones for inspiration.
TO THE SUBWAYS!!!

Tried my hand at typography with this Bill Hicks piece (higher quality version here). Never done this before, what you think? Portal worthy?
Had another stab at it with the same image.
Did a few more modifications to it and it's up now.
Thought I'd try my hand at typography. I've always loved Bill Hicks, he truly wanted to make the world a better place and se...
Really got into my nu skool tattoo art of resent so decided to do another skull but more cartoony this time. Tried getting it to upload but it's having none of it. I'll post it here and try again later.

how do u do the linework? by hand? idk what program ur using but surely there is a pencil tool or something. or is it an intentional choice? just wondering, since theyre so scribbly.
ur coloring technique is really recognizable, so this too may be intentional, but you tend to blur your colors and shading so hardcore that the linework stands out too much imo. you have these crisp black lines and these very blurred shades and colors. its difficult to look at.

Cheers for the feedback firstly.
You guessed it, I use a simple pencil tool and this piece was done with a mixture of Sumo Paint and Photoshop.

I've always been heavily influenced by a mix of tattoo designs and cartoons. So bright colours and thick black lines has grown to be a kind of style.

haha looks like something that (almost literally) crossed my mind when i was trippin balls last year. I think the style youre using is quite cool, bur i'd like to see other kinds of work too, you know? i bet you'd do good if you tried some more realism-oriented styles and coloring.
nope, no sig.

Thanks for the feedback but sadly I suck at realism. Even in life I live in my own drug addled world hahaha.
