ever since i got really sick a few years back.... the most i'm able to get is about 20.... and any pushups after that are grueling.

Ive been doing 10 Minute Trainer. Its from the guy who did P90X. It's basically just the same program, but you do everything at once to save time. I definitely recommend it. In my first 2 weeks Ive already lost 15lbs and a pant size. :X (proper diet included!!!!)

But on subject, pushups are easy as pie. It's crunches that kill you. If you can do 40, you should be able to get up to 100 in a couple weeks. I remember in NJROTC we used to do pushup competitions when we were earning our gym credits. Every one of us was doing a few hundred every time halfway through the year.

TL;DR - Keep at it.

you're much better off doing a full workout. just doing 100 push ups isn't going to do anything for you.

You won't gain much muscle from just doing 100 pushups either. Just powerlift and eat protein like body builders
Push ups are gay. Only queers can do more than 50

You can do a full upper body workout with just a pullup bar and a chair. There's tons of different kinds of pushups and pullups that you can do in combination, and you can throw in an ab workout.

Actually, exercises in which you push or pull your own body weight are the best for you and most people know that. I bet you look like the guy in your avatar.

It's better for building lean muscle. I'm not talking about just doing ten pullups and some pushups, I'm talking about doing three different grips with four sets each, followed by several different variations of pushups. A full two hour workout involving body weight exercises.

Many gymnasts only do body weight exercises and they have incredible physiques.
