Have you ever met people just fishing for compliments?
Types:
1.) I know that i'm hot (They actually are), but i'm going to say i'm ugly anyway so people can tell me otherwise.
2.) I'm trying way to hard to be hot. Ex: A boy with his shirt off who has those under-developed abs, or a girl who takes a side pic with her belly sucked in.
3.) I think I'm hot (in reality they're semi close to hot), but I'm going to say I'm ugly so people can feel sorry for me.
Do you know any of these people?
I think I do something similar.
Whenever someone calls me "Pretty" or "Beautiful" I always respond with a "No i'm not.."
Although, I think I'm between "Ok and Pretty".
I still don't want to respond with an "Oh thanks I know!"
or like "I know I am."
Because I don't want to sound like an overly arrogant bitch.
But I don't see how that's bad...right?

Maybe just accept the compliment god damn jesus christ.
It's insulting when someone gives you a compliment and you brush it off trying to be modest. Just fucking say thank you, that's it.
Also I don't understand the shirtless thing, what are you getting at with this

That's a couple of them. Most insecurity in humans appears when those who think that they will try and fail will do nothing. I am referring to people that don't participate in sports and other activities that have a chance of failure.
When others are insecure they have to feel like they are secure by making others insecure. To defeat the redundancy of saying that, I'll say this. Bullies think this,"If I make somebody else feel worthless, then I'll be sure that I'm not the only one with the problem".

Sorry for the double-post but if you want guys to like you, you have to attract them in either 2 ways: to yourself, or to your body.
You can attract them to who you are, interests, thoughts, feelings, knowledge, etc... Or you can attract them to just how you look. The guys who care more about you than your body are the right guys. Guys who think otherwise are the ones to stay away from.
Jah Bless.......

A simple "thank you" would be fine. It's modest, but without belittling yourself.

Although, I think I'm between "Ok and Pretty".

You could just say "Thanks, I guess".
There's no way to say "I know". n00b

Yes. Pretty much everyone on my Facebook does this. There's always those people that upload pictures of themselves posing in a sexual or revealing way usually so they can get a bunch of likes. Such as the girl who has on super tight booty shorts and has half her ass sitting on the bathroom sink. Or the guy who lifts up his shirt and flexes his abs super hard than uses the mirror to take a picture of himself.
Now I'm not saying this things don't work, because they do end up getting a lot of likes. But I just don't see any other reason for doing such a thing other than asking for some type of positive attention. Which is one of the reasons why when ever I upload a new picture of myself to Facebook, I usually delete it from my wall.
I think I do something similar.

It's not really about feeling insecure about yourself, it's about thanking them for their complement, or just simply being nice. However, you don't always have to reply "Nah I'm not pretty". There are ways of letting people know that you already know you're beautiful, without sounding like an arrogant bitch. For example, when someone compliments you on your looks, just reply with a simple "Thank you", or "I appreciate it". Or you could always return the favor and say "Thanks! You too!", or "Thanks, but not as pretty as you!" (Assuming it's a compliment from a girl).

I do thank them, but when it's a girl i'm like "No i'm not, you are!"
if it's a guy teasing me I would respond in a "No i'm not stop lying."(but in a hysterical way of saying it)
Also, if a random guys calls me "pretty." I want more than pretty to be the reason that hes talking to me lol.

To all the chumps saying "you should just be nice and say thanks instead of being a bitch", when a male tells a female that she's super hot, all he wants is to fuck her. Obviously, if the female had half of a brain, she'd know this and be modest about the compliment and not encourage him. Along with not being an arrogant hussy.
This is my signature. It is a nice signature.

If your self confidence is based on semblance, you shall never be truly secure. Forever you will, vainly, seek admiration from onlookers, even when you need to personate and hide your thoughts for that goal.

Really? I say it sometimes just to be honest.
