i had the same idea for my female ninja character. i like how quick you get done with these pieces, me working on tablet is like 10x slower. it is always a good feeling to look into your thread, The composition of your newest pieces are looking good (but then again i know little about composition).

Thanks. By applying a time limit I'm forcing myself to make quick and efficient strokes, which forces me to refine my color use and rendering skills.

Yep. Crits are infinitely more useful. Yeah, the hand is small, now that I think about it.

The ninja paintings were very deliberately color-themed. For this one I tried to be color objective (like how 3d models are without any shaders), but I guess I ended up over-saturating the colors. And yeah, I rarely draw expressions beyond angry or amused, which is bad practice in the long run. I typically just draw people mid-battle so all you ever see are angry faces haha. Prolly will try to look for an excuse to draw a different expression in the near future.

aight, so, I went back and tweaked this.

Following two of Flowers points: made the hand bigger and applied a blue overlay at 30% opacity to unify the colors some more.

My own edits: this drawing was made at 5 AM about, and it's one of those things you upload with the dreaded feeling: "this is gonna suck when I wake up tomorrow". sadly, I didn't get a chance to sleep until 6 in the evening, when I came back from work. And looking at it with fresh eyes, Chunner's face really bothered me because it was quite far out of perspective. So I tweaked it, and ultimately ended up giving it more of a manga edge. Now it doesn't look like she has a laterally huge head in perspective and the low ass elf ear is fixed.
