Of course, in the end when I wake up I remember I never really did get any nightmare but it's so peculiar. Why do I get this fear if I never get any nightmares in the first place?

i love nightmares they are adventurous dreams
As a child i'd get nightmares almost more than every other night and I'd be afraid of going to sleep at times. I had child like solutions back then, like sleeping in the same bed as my mom, so all I think of for you is to either just tough it out and realize it's not real, or listen to some calming music before you go to sleep.

I got bad nightmares a few months ago, and because of it, I went to the hospital for manic depression. Be careful guys of getting nightmares. It'll screw you guys up big time. :(

That feel when you realize you're the monster all along.
No joke, but masturbation before sleep really helps.
do you ever listen to your self talk!
Sometimes waking up from a nightmare feels like coming back from Hell.
I guess the fear afterwards is a bit scarier than being in the clutches of death.
I very rarely get those or any other kind of nightmare though.
As a child, i got SOOO many nightmares. I'm no longer afraid of getting them because i tell myself that I've reached my "nightmare quota" in life by having so many as a child. Seems to be true so far. I can't remember the last nightmare i've had.

i tried doing that once. It worked, for a bit and then I woke up the next morning. LOL.
Have you tried 'Lucid dreaming'? You'll never have nightmares again!
Unless you do it wrong. Then shit can easily get out of hand.

Nightmares are AWESOME!
Last night I had one, let me tell it to you.
I was in some sort of mansion in the middle of a botanical garden, when some Freddy Kruger clones attacked, and killed all my friends. In the end I befriended the real Freddy Kruger so he spared me. Then David Boreanaz came out of nowhere and we chilled for a while. Cool nightmare.
wow I just woke up from a nighmare, whats good for nightmares is getting up and doing something right after so when you go back to bed you dont dream about the same thing < - works about half the time, but worth the try.

It's no longer a nightmare then.

seriously, dont sleep on your back. Sleeping on your back gives you nightmares. Thats why I sleep on my side.

Actually, I don't think there is such a thing as a nightmare, as I enjoy them all....
