Will.I.Am - I Am

This track is great, because the beats are pretty much made nothing other than will.i.am's mouth, and then he raps over it. Not to mention it's catchy. It shows you that you don't need a fancy drum machine or FruityLoops to make a great song beat!

I love the work that Kenny Muhammad The Human Orchestra brought to the table for Mindless Self Indulgence's cover of the Slick Rick classic La-Di-Da-Di.

Predictable choice, yes, but for good reason. =3

Beatboxing and vocal talents are overrated. They're often largely based off of innate skill and not on any measure of true effort on the part of the noisemaker - aside from being obnoxiously loud and fine tuning the talent over time.

Drum machine and DAWs require effort to operate efficiently, much like an instrument. While everyone may become a master given enough time and dedication, the true wonder in this approach is that it's not so much a crutch to the incapable but rather a rougher, more satisfying route towards the goal of producing a satisfying beat. Money factors in too, I guess, but cheaper stuff like Renoise makes the ability to create, design, and enjoy your workflow affordable to even the poorest of souls.

Oh and Will.i.Am is in Dance Dance Revolution, last I've heard. But that's all I can say on the subject matter.
