It all depends on what exactly your looking for .... to be honest if you want to lean animation, ANY KIND of animation, its best if you self teach with the program your using and study other authors animation style and develop your own.

Newgrounds is a great start and place to get tips and tricks and help for anything you might work on whether that be games or movies or applications.

long story short animation takes practice practice and more fucking practice and same goes with game development but the best place to learn basics and tips is right here NEWGROUNDS.COM

Id say the normal animation template, what evers most comfortable for you but here http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/flashtutorials.html

theres a whole page on tutorial to give you tips and help for any Ideal workflow you wish :) but most of them are shot with flash 8-cs3 which is no diffrent from flash cs5 but has diff window placement which you can alter in any form you want

watch a ton of tutorials, that will help, the real true step though is when you actually animate something, try focus on HOW TO make stuff and internalize the process, i found animation at most levels is just applying some easy steps...if only drawing wasnt so hard and the ammount of work so tedious

also did i read you are good with penis comics?

It's hard to find good tutorials that you don't fall alseep through buut...

I watched OneyNG's tutorials on youtube and they are the best I've seen. It doesn't show you everything but at least the basics. He also keeps you entertained throughout the whole thing.

Otherwise, you can sit through 20 minute videos. :/

Since watching his videos, I was able to figure a lot of stuff out on my own.

I think that the best place to learn as an animator is everywhere around you physically, first. You need to be extremely observant of actual motions and actions and things in order to get really good at animating.

As for sources on the internet, the same rule sort of applies. Get rid of your ego completely (not trying to say anyone here has an ego just saying it's necessary to get rid of it as an artist who wants to improve) and ask every online animator anything they've learned. Newgrounds is a great source because lots of animators come here to get involved with the animation scene.

I'd suggest joining any forum that has animation competitions or collaborations with deadlines if you're really interested in getting good quickly. Adding a competitive side and a deadline does wonders for your animation game!

i have found that the best way to learn the basics are in a class. i take graphics in school and that teaches a person how to use the basic tools, after that i find the class useless. its all about the individuals personal experience, and i learned everything about animation on my own. i think its a great way to learn
